    Hello

I know this topic is old and I started a post some 5 years ago about this.

but still not sure I have made the best choice purchasing a new mac book pro to dj with and spending over £2000.00

If I had spent the same money on a PC Laptop, I would not be writing this post and everything would be so much simpler, and I feel my new mac book pro seem slow and sluggish compared to my PC high end hardware.

I'm still finding this process very slow and painful when converting my traktor music collection on the PC to my new mac book, In an ideal world I should have spent my money on a PC laptop and not a brand new up to date mac book pro!, then I would not have this problem.

I maxxed on the spec of my mac book pro with 2.8ghz,I7 16gigs memory with a 512gb ssd, and I still don't really rate its speed or performance, but maybe I just can't get use to apple or yosomite ??

anyway performance aside, I have an I7 high end PC machine that I use to process, rip, edit, tagg etc. all my music and finally store the music to and external usb3 hard drive. my aim is to be able to take the usb3 hard drive between PC and MAC. PC = processing / increasing music collection and the Mac Book Pro laptop = DJing with collection on USB3 external hard drive.

I have created a folder on my drive usb3 external drive called "FINAL DJ MUSIC" whereby I keep adding my CDs / music once ripped / tagged and thus ready to use for djing. So slowly this folder "FINAL DJ MUSIC" on the external hard drive will keep growing in size

now this is where my problems occur!, the traktor I have running on the PC, THAT I use TRAKTOR to anaylise the files, for BPM, stripes, etc.
and as my music collection grows on the hard drive, so does the database grow under My Documents\Native Instruments\ PC

when I run traktor on the PC everything works just fine, all the new music is added and in traktor.

NOW, what I would like is and easy way to update the mac with ONLY the NEW music I have added to my collection i.e. 2 new CD's

I don't want to have to import the whole collection to the mac each time when I update the P.C. Traktor collection database.

    Can this be done, ??

If I had a PC laptop instead of a mac to DJ with, I would just copy the updated 'My Documents\Native instruments' on the PC to the laptop,

to import the collection on the mac takes ages and the bigger the collection gets the slower it will be,

Any help will be appreciated, only had this mac book pro 2 days and thinking I should have gone with a pc laptop

oh I have also been advised to go back to traktor 2.6.8 as this is a stale version for DJing, so my mac has got version 2.6.8

and my PC has got the latest 2.8.1 that I used to edit all the music for traktor.

I have done a complete import to the mac of my traktor collection on the pc but now notice on the mac book many of my stripes are missing ??, this could be a bug in the older version of traktor (2.6.8) ?? it would seem the only way now on the mac to get back all the missing stripe data is to re analyse my complete music collection on the mac ????

all I ever want to do is just up date the mac with new music that was previously processed on the PC machine! thus with all the hard work of tagging / analysing etc inside traktor done on my PC, not macbook pro laptop!

why oh why are there missing stripe data on the mac book, but not on the PC version of traktor, this is just one more headache in the processes of pc & mac DJing.

it's such a shame mac does not use the same paths as windows.

    thank you in advance
