    Hi everyone-

I have been using Serato for quuite some time and had invested in the SL3 version and it has been a nightmare.

I own a pretty high end laptop with some serious horsepower and serato would just have WAAAY too many audio drop outs every night.

Can i get some *HONEST* feedback on the Traktor pro setup? I am not a turntablist, i am not going to be doing crazy tricks and sampling and over dubs and everything. those days are LONG behind me. :) I do a simple residency once a week at a popular CT. club and just need a GOOD, reliable, STABLE, computer DJ suite. (i obviously beat mix and do some minor tricks and live remixing. but nothing crazy)

I have heard many good things about Traktor and I think I am going to make the plunge, but i really dont want to have the same problems with Traktor that i have been experiencing with Serato SL3.

I have a Vaio computer with:

    I7 processor.
    12GB RAM
600GB HD and i also have the option of an 80GB Solid state system/program drive and then use the 600GB HD for music/data only.
I have *JUST* windows 7/64 installed. dont have any other programs installed. not even AV software. This is a FRESH formatted drive.

Anyone having problems or are there known issues (like with serato) wit the I-7 processors? This computer is a beast. there is NO REASON why it should have any issues with any sort of Audio programs (and yes, i did ALL of the "tweaks" to make the computer "Pro audio" ready).

    Any insight would be great.

    -Marc

Wow, your Computer really is a beast :D

But a thousand people could write in this thread Traktor is working fine, you get it and get trouble. Like everything Traktor is not perfect.

I can't remember reading about Issues with I7 procesors though.

No offence but there isn't any reason that the SL3 shouldn't work either. I think that there are possibly some issues with your beast of a laptop that make it unsuitable, as it currently configured, for audio. USB3 ports have been a problem on some laptops, for example.

Start by downloading the DPC latency checker (google it) and running it. If you get red spikes then you've got problems.

If so, go to the NI knowledge base and follow the Windows 7 tweaks guide.

Also turn off your wi-fi if you have it on. This is a killer for both Traktor and Serato.

If Serato gives you trouble, chances are that Traktor gives you trouble also on that laptop.
If I were you, I would try to fix the issues you have.
Have you tried the SL3 on a other computer?
You can always download the TSP demo and see how it performs with the SL3(no timecode)

Yup sounds to me like a PC issue. I run serato off a I3, 4gb sony laptop and never have any dropouts. Make sure all your drivers for laptop are up to date, turn of your wi-fi, and (if any) anti-virus software.

This. Also power managment on Sony vaio causes problems constently checking what level the battery is at. Turning off power managemet solved 90% of my problems (I used DPC as mentioned above to find the issue).
