    5.4.18 SYNC Buttons A and B

    (...)

Pressing the SYNC button (without SHIFT) for more than one second will reset the associated Deck's tempo (i.e., it will return to it's original tempo with 0% pitch adjust).

This function is not working when using RELATIVE MODE.
When you press the sync button for more than a second, the pitch slider kinda moves to the 0% position but then gets back to the previous pitch setting.

Man, this is a very helpful feature, at least for me. I don't want to spend time sliding up and down pitch faders on my turntable. Those days are gone for me.
I hit the sync button to give the slave deck the master tempo and then I turn if off.
Many times I want the bpm back to its original setting and that's why it would be lovely to be able to reset it on the fly.
I've created a keyboard shortcut to perform this task. Please, make it work directly on the mixer.

By the way, great job on the Z2. Loving it! :p

    Semi-Workaround?

Thoms, until NI solves the problem, there is a semi-workaround.
It seems to work on the X1 too.
All you gotta do is switch to internal mode while playing, hold down the sync button for 1 second and then go back to relative mode.
That's what I'm doing, so I don't have to use the keyboard shortcut for the same action. The only button I want to press on my laptop keyboard is power. And that's it.
On the Z2 seems to be easier since the buttons are centered on the mixer.
Still it would be great if NI fixes this bug on their next Traktor update.

I opened a ticket about this issue and heres the answer:

NI: thats the expected behavior in ALL Timecode control modes (absolute and relative).

In these modes you CANT use the software tempo fader (it greyed out).

This is because in TC control mode its the speed of the timecode that controls the
    speed of the deck.

You would have to switch to 'internal playback' first (just press 'play' for the
deck), then you can reset the tempo.

My reply: There surely must be an easier way of doin this? isnt it possible to map it so that it will do the play/reset in one action?

NI: you can define a keyboard (or controller command) to trigger both commands,
switching to internal playback, then resetting the tempo.

And then you would also need another button that switches back to relative mode
    afterwards.

So the quickest (and easiest way to rerset the tempo of a TC controlled deck) is
to simply move the fader on your hardware to +-0%

Im not sure that he really understood what I meant, but.... Anyway, I agree 100% regarding the onetouch only on the PC. I want to be able to do all from the mixer and/or the X1. And by the way: Thx for the tip!

    Keyboard shortcut

Thoms, their response seems to be wrong.
With a simple keyboard shortcut you sure can reset the tempo on relative mode without having to switch back from internal mode.
I did this for both decks A and B:

    Controller Manager >
    Add In >
    Deck Common >
    Timecode >
    Reset Tempo Offset

Then you have to map the shortcut to one of your keyboard keys (try using one that's not already mapped by Traktor. Example: { and ])

Give your shortcut a name and assign your new reset command to deck A or B.

It worked fine here. Hope it helps.

    Sorry for my bad english.

    Tip

Kraal, how did you map it?
Gotta admit my controller editor skills are pretty lame.
I'd like to have my sync behaving just like the z2's manual says:
You press it for more than one second and, boom, pitch is reset to zero.
    Happy Holidays yall.

    Look here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qplfnflxofou8cd/sync_buttons_for_tempo_reset.jpg

This pic was provided to me by NI support, but I still dont think they quite get what we want.
    This is what they wrote:
You can change ANY button on the Z2 to control any available function in Traktor.

Just check the attached screenshot, and add two assignments, so that the sync
buttons no longer trigger sync, but reset a deck to +-0%

However, I dont just want it to be a reset button, but I also at the same time need it to work as a sync button. This is what I dont think they get. I tried the map in the pic, but all it did was making it impossible to sync. The buttons just went dead.

    Reset tempo offset

I'm still trying to figure this out.
I'd love the sync button to behave like this:

Activate sync when pressed. (default - already happens)
Deactivate sync when pressed again, but maintaining the new adjusted tempo. (already happens - for me, one of the coolest and handy tools on Traktor)

:: Reset tempo offset if the sync is pressed for more than a second. ::

    Anyone?
