    Hello,
does anybody know the exact steps to sync the tempo of two different traktor pro 3 running on two different laptops.
my set up: two laptops with windows 10, two allen heath xone k2, one mixer xone 43.
I know it is explained on traktor manual and NI support page but I can't manage to follow the explanations.
    thanks in advance

I would use a router, connect both via cable then just activate ableton sync in both programs. I would also work with a lan cable directly between two computers but then you would have to set it up correctly, the above method is simple.

As I said you can go both routes but without a router running DHCP server for automatic addressing you have to manually setup if you use a direct connection. Both is possible but with router it's much easier, and you mentioned that you can't follow the instructions so I think that's the easiest straight forward way

But you can try this method if you want, I'm not sure if it needs a cross wired lan cable, like they say in this article, normally it should also work with "normal lan cable" but it's really long time ago that I direct connected 2 computers and back then you needed a cross cable.

    Hello,
I am using the configuration as suggested by native instrument support:

getting the two computers connected by ethernet and beatsync mode:
    https://support.native-instruments....RAKTOR-to-other-Applications-via-Ableton-Link

We have the problem that we often loose the connection between the two laptops and we always have to reconnect it by turning off link + turn on Auto + turn on link again.
(resetting downbeat function doesn't work for us)

is there any way to keep the connection stable? this method is not reliable as we always have to keep an eye to check the link connection is functioning while we are playing live.

I would believe a LAN connection is more robust than the Wi-Fi connection. Less susceptible for external signal noise generating errors in the link.

It's a long time since I made a direct connection myself, but seem to remember that you needed to have a twisted connection for it to work. A normal LAN cable would not do the job in this configuration.
[Edit] It is mentioned in the article you are referring to, that a crossover cable is used for a computer to computer LAN connection.
