    Hi robojam,

    could you also send in the registry keys as mentioned above. I suspect a specific Kontakt settings which is stored in the registry for Kontakt which might cause the trouble.

    I have deleted those registry keys a few times, so any entries now are because of a reinstall of Kore player.

    Will submit contents is the following posts due to character limitation sizes on posts.

    If he'd said "mail", I would have mailed. He said "send", so I saw no problem with posting it here.

    Hi robojam,

    we have looked at your Kontakt 3 registry settings, and there is nothing unusual. Currently I think that there is a general problem with the Kontakt engine on your computer. If you still have time and endurance for troubleshooting, you might want to install the Kontakt 3 demo and see if this works in standalone and plugin mode. Currently I would assume that this will also freeze or bring up a dialog window.

    Although you stated somewhere in the thread that your computer is fast enough to run Kore Player, you can also send an email to tech support with your system information file attached. This can be exported with the app "System Information" which is located in the Windows start menu under Accessories/System Programs. Again, when you send this via the tech support form, point to this thread and mention my name.

    No, not a Kontakt 3 demo. I had pretty much all the NI demos around 2 years ago, but I don't remember version numbers, etc.

    Just know that I had them installed, but I looked at the current demos and they're not time limited. Maybe the previous ones weren't, it was a while back and I don't remember.

    I'll try to install it and see what happens.

    trouble starting

    OK I removed the plugins folder and tried to get it to boot. Turns out that it is kontakt3.dll (V. 3.0.2.4, 29.4MB) is the cuplrit for me. All the rest work.
    I have never had any other NI programs in this machine. It is brand new.
    What is the effect of not having the file in the folder?

    That's the internal engine for anything that uses samples. It almost sounds to me like the Kontakt engine can't find its library...

    That sounds ominous. Will I be able to use the program without that file? How do I fix the problem?

    I ended up wiping my hard drive and starting over because I bought a copy of Komplete. No problems after that.
