    hi,

i want to sync my maschine with traktor (scratch) pro. but the tutorial movie on ni's website says i need 2 systems.

my question is: can I use midi clock from traktor to maschine on the same computer system?

i already linked a midi cable from my maschine to my audio 8 DJ. but wen in activate external midi sync. it (maschine) doesn't make any sound.

i hope someone can help me.
    tnx in advance

    yes!

make sure Maschine has Ext Sync checked.

also read the instructions in your Template Manual.

yes the sync to external midi is checked, just like every thing explained in the tutorial movie, but wen checked the maschine does not play any sound wen hitting the play button. wen i uncheck it plays its loops again,...

somehow i can't put my audio 8 on in the midi in- and output maschine menu.

    what is going wrong?

    tnx in advance

you need to press the play button in Traktor.

also make sure you have the latest version of Traktor.

i have the play button for the midi clock sync activated. and ofcourse i am running the newest version of both traktor and maschine.
the problem is, if i want to play a sample, t just won't start when i press the playbutton on the maschine hardware, nor the button is lit.

ok now i am confused. what button are you refering to? the playbutton in the master clock section, or the playbutton of each deck?.

    anyway both won't work.

i can play samples by pressing a pad. but i can't play a pattern wen in external sync mode.

what is different on my system and that on the ni movie is the midi in and out. see attachment

    Same problem, no solution

    Hi All,

I have the exact same problem and I did not found a solution yet. Has someone found something?

I also checked on my Audio8 DJ device that the lights indicating midi out are blinking so I know that Traktor send it well.

The problem seems to be in the maschine controller device. :|

    Thank you

I have gotten both synced up on the same workstation but not without crashes on the Maschine side.

I am using a virtual MIDI cable named LoopBe30. It's claim to fame is that it is a WDM kernel mode driver so it's capable of very low latencies. More info on LoopBe30 here --> http://www.nerds.de/en/loopbe30.html

Using the same instructions from the tutorial video but using LoopBe30 as my cable, everything works as described. Once I press the play/pause button in the Midi Clock panel, Maschine starts playing and I can see the MIDI clock sync happening in the left LED display. I had two decks running in sync with each other and Maschine - great!

Now for the crash - this happens once I start cycling through my groups on the Maschine while it and Traktor are playing. There is an assertion error dialogue that pops up and Maschine simply dies. God-awful buzzing coming out of the speakers. Traktor keeps on chugging with no apparent problems from the sudden loss of communication with Maschine. Will file a bug report later when I have more time to play. :D

Once this gets sorted out, I can see a lot of creative possibilities in having Traktor and Maschine synced up. Here's to even deeper integration between the two.

    Hello!

I found this in the Knowledgebase from Native:

    ---------------------------------------
    bla bla bla ........

Note: The Virtual MIDI Ports of both applications don't appear on a Windows PC. If you want to sync TRAKTOR and MASCHINE on a PC you need to use another software like MIDI Yoke which you can download here:

    http://www.midiox.com/

    -----------------------------------------------

I have the same problem on my vista-system.
    ---
    For Midi-Yoke-Installation on Vista:

    ----------------------------------------------------

    Hello! (my first post here)

I got Midi Yoke installed and working on MS Vista 32bit Final version by doing the following:

    1. Download the MIDI Yoke NT 1.74 Installer.
    2. Run "MSCONFIG" from the Run-menu (Win+R).
    3. Go to the "Tools"-tab and select "Disable UAC".
    4. Press "Launch". Close the CMD-window.
    5. Restart your computer and install MIDI Yoke Wink

The Vista UAC(User account control) is making the MIDI Yoke installer problems. Feel free to turn the UAC back on later by doing steps 2 to 5 again..

    Have a nice day Wink

i have the same problem as described above. i have a windows 7 32bit 4GB computer on wich traktor is running and a mac book pro 2.66GHz 4GB on wich maschine is running. i can not start maschine because the play button is disabled when changing to "sync to external midi clock". has somebody found a way to sync these two programs when using one windows based computer?
i am using two soundcards, one audio dj8 and one built in ecler evo 5 soundcard.
    any ideas and recomendations?

You need to select internal sync in Traktor, not the external sync. Use external sync if you want Traktor as slave. Unselect send midiclock in that case.

What if you want Traktor as the master and Maschine as the slave?

When they mentioned the external sync command, it stops the play function in Maschine. Is there a way to just load the maschine to one of the decks in Traktor?
