Hi, so not sure where to put this under as its not really a support call for Reaktor but more general.

I have been learning Reaktor and using the various Bento, Boutique and Kodiak oscillators and filters and trying out different sounds. I am starting to make stuff that in starting to be usable, but what I am finding is everything I am making had a quasi 70s / 80s analogue "retro" sound or NIN sounding -- which is cool, but not what I am after. I am not able to make sounds that are hear in the old Massive. In the old Massive I am seeing oscillators such as polysaw and additivemix. Is the reason for this that Massive has a different generation of oscillators and filters than whats in Reaktor or I just need to keep experimenting. One example that I am trying to re-create in Reaktor is the Into Deep present which has 3 oscillators, a couple of filters and a couple of effects.

    Just curious.

70s/80s/analoge Synths are using "standard oscillators" (saw/sine/square/triangle...). massive uses "wavetables", which can be "everything" (usually single cycle waveforms of "anything that sounds good/modern/raw...". that's why you get "retrosounds" out of standard-oscillators and not that "modern massive sound" (which is all about it's wavetables and possibilities to modulate them and so on...).

Thanks all. I downloaded and tried Richard Divines patched. I see he is using wavetables. So I guess he is making them using Prime and Core and not Blocks. I guess I have to dig into the manuals for Core and Prime.
