Tags to finally make smartlists the norm

I know the topic has been discussed before (multi genre support for example), but now that smartlists work so smoothly, you should really prioritise having some king of tagging system in place (for genres, energy and whatever suits everyone's workflow). Especially if you made it a drag n drop thing where you could throw multiple tracks on a tag and the tag would be appended to them. You could easily assign tags to songs, and that would instantly make manual playlisting useless. You could for example have tags like "warmup" "disco house" "happy" "remake" or anything on a single song, and just make smartlists that use these tags as well as the more traditional criteria.
I know it can be done now if you put more than one words in the Genre field for example, but there's a lot of typing involved, and you can't click on one of the words in the genre field and have the program search for that word only in other song's genre field

 

Very much agreed that a) multi-value metadata support is needed, and b) library & smart list needs to be able to understand them... (and the later needs to be able to take a 'playing track' into account to dynamically filter...)
But: The important bit for a tag implementation imo is that this is not a lock-in system like Pioneer /RekordBox employs, where the tags only sit inside the software. Instead but they need to be read & written as (multi value [what's the point if it can only hold 1 tag...?!]) metadata which I can also write & read elsewhere if need be!!!

- a tool for quick tagging (don't write each tag by hand)
- multi-tag support
- and track filter for convenient multi-stage search of all parameters

and multi-tags may look like this (or simply separated by commas without the ability to quickly delete)
