Now I have TDJ2 I am struggling to understand the use case for using the S2 MK3 with TDJ2 on an iPad over using TP3 on my MacBook.

Both need a power adapter (either to power the S2 or your laptop). In fact I can run the S2 and my laptop for an hour or so without any power. I can also use the laptop speakers if I’m just practicing on the sofa which you can’t do with the iPad. Both are just as portable but TP3 has way more features, better music collection organisation, faster analysis, faster tracking loading, more effects. I can also load samples and trigger them from the S2 which you can’t do in TDJ2.

    Thoughts?

Because eventually everything will be running tdj2 tp3 will be fazed out the are starting from the ground up. I don’t mind tdj2 too much but feel it was a slight waste of time releasing the desktop version in its current state.

The use case for TDJ2 on iPad and the S2mk3 is the mobility. When you have for example a Bluetooth speaker with build in power-bank functionality you have a complete mobile setup. See the Video below at 4:50 min

But you can have a complete mobile setup with a MacBook Pro, S2 MK3, TP3 and Bluetooth speaker. You can even charge the MacBook with a USB-C power bank.

Ok, but a MacBook needs more power than an iPad I guess, and it’s larger and more heavy.

TDJ2 has a massive CPU load on my MacBook Pro 2015. It's almost unusable. Traktor Pro 3 only has about 15% while TDJ2 has 100% all the time. There must be something wrong. Anyone else having this issue?
