Just got the 5.5 beta, and it's unusable on my system due to constant crackles. I'm running at 24/96, 512 samples delay on my HDSP system w/ multiface.

I'm running a 2.4GHz Core 2 Quad Q6600, 8GB RAM, Win7-64 (but 32-bit Cubase 5). Everything else works just fine. Reaktor 5.5 does not. It constantly glitches, and I can see the ASIO meter in the red every 3rd or 4th glitch.

Not good. Wondering what's up! Anybody?

OK, very weird. Just changed from 512 to 256, and everything was fine. Then, back to 512. I get a single glitch on the first note, then nothing. All is well!

    Weeeeird.

Anyhoo, new GUI rocks. Just plain rocks!

Could you add mousewheel sensitivity to menus, such as snapshots? That'd be really cool to be able to hover & scroll thru sounds that way. Very cool indeed that would be!

Well, I checked out that whole thread, then went and got Cubase 5.5.1. Still no love.

Reaktor just did the same thing. Changing the buffer size in my RME settings from 512 to 256 fixes the cracklies. I can then switch it safely back to 512.

    Weird. Very, very weird.

I'm running Cubase 5.5.1 in 32 bit mode and would like to add that I'm getting spiking ASIO activity and red light HD activity all over the place. Initial tests seems steady but loading some of the older ensembles and scrolling through the snapshots seemed to set it off. On higher zooms in even grabbing the screen with the hand tool and moving it around produced insane crackles and activity.

I've just update cubase to the 5.1.1 and was playing around with the new "CPU Power settings" overide so hard to tell really. disappointing as i was looking forward to using it in my projects and now maybe will have to be put on hold again. I'm talking about the latest reakor Beta here by the way.

    Anyone else?

Ok I think I've found a temporary solution for the spiking etc. while using Cubase 5.5.1.

Start Task Manager, select Cubase 5 from the Processes, right click/select Affinity... disable all cores and re-enable. Problem solved. Reakor 5.5. runs sweet again.

I just don't trust Steinberg and their multi-core coding. This is still the old Affinity bug rearing its head again by the look of things.

Anyway at least for the time being it appears its possible to continue to use Reakor this way at least.
