I'm stumped. I'm a registered owner but I still keep coming up as Guest. If I amend my forum ID and password on my Owner's profile the forum won't let me in. Can someone please help!

    Hi John,

what is even weirder: I cannot see any difference between you and other users who show as product owners. even I am in the same group like you.

if I get the time, I will talk to the forum tech guys next week.

only thing that is different is that you do not subscribe to threads you posted to. do you want to try this just for giggles?

    Best,
    Markus

    * click on User CP on the top left

    * click on Edit Options in the bar on the left

    * scroll down until you get to the thread subscription options

    * change them and save your changes at the bottom of the page

no idea if this will work - just a hunch. maybe you will find another option that does the trick. I already looked you up in a special admin tool and did not find anything.

    Best,
    Markus

I remember that when registering my first NI product, I got both a user login name + password AND a forum login name + password. Maybe you don't use the latter Sky? (Only meant as a kind suggestion, no criticism)
    kind regards

    Hi Snyer,
Yes, I did that ok. Logically: (A) I must be a registered owner because I got my ID key, etc. and fully installed Bandstand. (B) I must be a registered forum user because here I am! Weird.

While you're at it, tell them to get a real server. Your site has the most unpredictable response times of all the sites I visit. I'd say 20% of the time it acts like it's down or being updated.

Well, it's one way to limit the number of critical posts incoming, isn't it?

    Thanks.
I'll wait patiently for Sowari to fix the bug.

Actually, I brought it up because the site consistantly "freezes". The last time was when I was checking out products. I may be sarcastic but my point is positive. Why would a company want a site that frustrates potential buyers, especially when the technology is no big deal these days? The other day someone asked on a forum if the site was down. Because of the slow response times I used to presume they were always doing system maintenance. Then it happened so often and at such high demand times (instead of, say, 1 am Friday morning) that I concluded there had to be server problems.

I was nice enough to say something instead of just going elsewhere, now I putting it in my "another NI thing to just deal with" box. No biggie.

Hey Ernie, you're preaching to the choir here. I have the same experience with this site. Painful at times.

    Kind regards.

    Hi all,

here is what I could find out from the online team: the guest issue is known and will be fixed along with an upcoming forum update.

time issues are not known so far. could you please be more specific? is this only when you read/navigate or only when you write posts or in both cases?

another tip that I got is to check if any other NI pages are affected at the same time (e.g. the home page). I will look out for these issues as well and track date/time and home page speed.

    Best,
    Markus
