In R3 you could create a data table by typing in a text editor -- but you could only enter data on the X-axis.

Does anyone (with a manual) know if you can type 2-dimensional (X-Y) tables for R4?

    Something like this...

    3 6 2 67 54 78 2 0 (new linebreak code)
    2 67 54 78 2 0 4 67 (new linebreak code)
    54 78 2 0 4 67 1 8 (new linebreak code)

    Hi Doug,

Sorry, no can do... According to the manual "It is not possible to create values for the Y-axis using a text file, the values are only for Y=0". :-(

    peace,

Too bad it still can't do it.

DFA, I've just posted an instrument that helps with this problem, which I had too. Search for "Linear-2d". Description follows.

Linear -> 2D is a workaround for the problem that Reaktor won't read data for 2d tables from text files.

    Solution:
Generate your 2D data in a wordpro or spreadsheet; after you save it text format, do a search and replace so all the data goes in one long row; load that into the Linear Table
in the Linear ->2D macro, click On, and the data is scanned into the 2DTable, which can
then be saved in Reaktor format.

Note: You'll have to adjust table sizes and the size knob; the algorithm presumes
that the 2d table is square.

Thank-ye, and thanks for all your posts.

(I do hope they enable the direct read from 2d text in a future version.)
