That limited edition Black S49 is hot

Never good because it then becomes someones ( person or people judging) opinion or preference instead of a promotional aspect.

 

Even so, IMO I think that's more "fair" than selecting a random winner who might not even give the prize any use, the only promo the company gets is new emails added to the newsletter list, not sure how much value that has since most of us here already on the list. Having thousands of new emails that just want the prize and won't never buy anything doesn't sound that appealing business wise.

Let's say it's a music making video competition, that has decent promotion value since hundreds of musicians would be uploading videos online and most people that buy gear buy it after they are impressed by seeing someone using it properly. Imagine how many people bought Maschine just cause they saw what Jeremy Ellis can do with it.. This could be similar but with the key difference of not having to pay/sponsor the artists. Just my 2cents tho.

 

No really sure how a competition is "more fair" than random selection.
A competition still comes down to someone making a choice so it's just someones opinion nothing more.
What made my video better? Someone said it was better not that it really was.

Just another way people try to sneak self promotion into things.
It's not about some NI user making beats it's about the s49.

 

A video is just an example of several things that could be done.
OK then, we just agree to disagree on this one and move on, repeating ourselves will lead nowhere.
