    hi, im interested in buying a macbook pro 2.4ghz 2gb ram and 250hd. My Sony Vaio is getting old (specs in my signature)

    My questions are:

    -after installing tsp and audio 4 driver on the new mac, is there a way to import my old playlists, tsi settings, audio pref settings from the vaio to the new mac? Or ill just have to create new playlists, new audio pref settings and tsi settings on the new mac? Plus analizing all my music once again?

    -i have some more questions to ask but i forgot what hehehe. Are there other things i should know regarding transfering tsp from vaio/windows vista to mac?

    Thanks =)

    Yes, this is possible. There are multiple discussions on the forum regarding this, please check them through.

    For the most part, the all such things are covered in the other discussions. Another thing is that you need to learn to use the new keyboard and touchpad. While it doesn't appear much, a Windows background can make it harder to getting used to Mac's trackpad.

    Biggest difference is in the "leftclick" vs. "rightclick". Easiest way to do them is like this:
    - "leftclick" pretty much like on windows; put one finger on the touchpad and click it.
    - "rightclick" pretty much unlike windows ;) put two fingers on the touchpad and click it. Alternative method is to press CTRL down and do a "leftclick" ... some prefer this way (I don't).

    Also, the keyboard might getting a bit used to; the buttons CTRL, ALT and CMD are not in the same configuration as they are on Windows machines. Also, many "CTRL+somecharacter" shortcuts of Windows are "CMD+somecharacter" on Mac. Takes a bit getting used to, but not too much generally.

    Hope this helps.

    I have a mac with the same specs as you Vaio, except that I upgraded Ram to 4 GB, and it run nicely with Traktor and Maschine in long, stressful live situation. You could save a lot of money if you buy 2 DDR2 2GB chip of Ram.

    And by the way, upgrade to Windows 7. Vista is such a Ram sucker.

    thanks for the replies guys =)
    @ Samish was thinking of just upgrading my vaio's ram to 4gb, actually, my vaio runs fine with tsp, even with Vista, my vaio is dedicated to only run traktor. =) thanks bro. hmmmmmmmm......

    @DiscoNova thats what im afraid of, getting familiar with a completely new different os but im sure i can learn it in time. im more concerned about the importing my old tsp settings, playlists etc. to the new mac. i tried searching for it here in the forum but all i can find are pc vs mac threads. cant find anything with regards to importing tsp settings from windows to mac.
    thanks for your reply bro =)

    Getting habit of a Mac is really simple. It took me about a week or two. The OS is really great.

    But saving money is always the best option (well, if you're at uni), so I'd say get the 4GB ram and Windows 7 on your Vaio. These are still pretty good computers, I heard.
