My question is...... Why does the NI and AKAI competition seem just like the Drake vs Meek Mill beef? And BOTH of them need to step their games up...... I'm trying to upgrade from my bulls*** mpc element and neither brands seem trustworthy even though they're the most "reliable" brands in the game. I don't want to buy the stuff from novation, M-Audio, Alesis, Korg, or any of that. I want a controller that has good software, a good price tag, some nice pads, an led screen, and possibly the ability to standalone, NOT NONE OF THIS "ADVANCED" NONSENSE! I want something RELIABLE, that's WELL BUILT, and will keep me from having to upgrade 2x+ a year! Come on. You guys have time to put out this wack keyboard nonsense, this "touch screen controller" nonsense, this "prestige software" nonsense, BUT. I. WANT. A. CONTROLLER. AND. SOFTWARE. THAT IS GOOD ENOUGH! SOMETHING COMPATIBLE SEAMLESSLY WITH LOGIC, ABLETON, PRO TOOLS, FL STUDIO, REASON, CUBASE, ALL OF THAT! SOMETHING THAT'LL ACTUALLY MAP TO IT! I have spent time, money, and dedication to music. I'm sure you all have too and/or agree too. But this HAS to stop. We could even create our own controllers that can be 10x+ better than this! Something. I need something. Music projects are due soon.

There has been no sampling drum machines in history that have received the amount of support/upgrades than Maschine and the MPC Ren/Studio. But...of course people want more. Producers have made hits with and without these products....

Use Export Audio features. All DAWs can import audio files.

I mean compatibility with most/all softwares would blow most big brands out of the water..... :)

Not saying that Maschine couldn't (or arguably shouldn't) be much better in this regard (even 1.x was better in some ways), but compatibility and the "integration" so many want is neither easy or necessarily even possible with so many different softwares due to the different ways they deal with plugins. Again, not to say that Maschine can't be improved drastically and so many users are at least happy enough. Just having Maschine do what it could do as a just a plugin in this scenario (e.g., save/retain its own settings) would go a long way.

Do you want Maschine to make you pancakes too?

Lol, what a non-sense claim for sense.

What you want is different from what other wants, deliver a product that satisfice most users with limited resources is hard.

Now Mkotechno, don't be too hard on him....many of us here have dreamed of a Maschine that makes pancakes for us. It could do it too, but only virtual pancakes on the screens ;)

What many of us would also (or should I say 'really') like to see is increased creative randomization and round robin options available within the software.

For me, that would be even better than pancakes.

Of course, if Akai's new product could make pancakes, the advantage would be that you could actually 'touch' them. Mmmmm, pancakes...

Ah a controller that seamlessly interacts with a DAW, now that's asking far too much isn't it? !!! ;)
Better get used to touch screen, whether you like it or not your doorbell will have one soon enough...

Touchscreens really seem to be gaining a lot of popularity.

Well, first Maschine is not a controller, is an environment, which is supposed to work end to end, just because the sequencer is limited and some people is using workarounds does not mean Maschine goal is to integrate better with DAWs, if fact Maschine goal is to get rid of inefficient DAW workflows, but is still failing (insert hopes for 2.5 here)

    ypu this was ma
    u dont say

might have something to do with a company called apple

but if Im not mistaken the Triton had some touch screen tech way back in the 90's

so how do maschine users feel now that Akai has destroyed them?

as a former maschine advocate I do think NI needed a good shaking up to knock some sense into them; I bet they aint gonna release anymore more tracktor bullshit until they get maschine back on point; as they know that product is they bread and butter as of late. (i do acknowledge komplete, reaktor, traktor and kontakt)

but those other products aint selling like maschine so they disrespected maschine users by ignoring requests and now akai bitch slapped em

    :D

A touch screen better than dedicated buttons and knobs? Would you drive a car with a touch screen instead of wheel and pedals?

Their Youtube vid said it was only the beginning so the Touch Screen Windows MPC is probably next.

Maybe they will do a stand alone (no computer version) with a 3 TB internal drive and all the MPC Ren Software inside the unit with Touch screen. That would be a Murderer!

My understanding of that thing according CDM and Akai is that they use the display link protocol on the device. According to a quote there , that mean you can mirror what's on your desktop on the device if you want. How well that will work, who knows but it's pretty cool nonetheless and with more and more DAWs moving to touch controls it makes this thing pretty versatile if true.

On another note. The supposed street price for this thing will be around $799, considering the
Studio was $999 with no audio interface I think Akai may have a hit on it's hands (if it works well).

    Quote from CDM

The MPC Touch is designed pretty well other than having the pads on the left side. The screen and the pad sections are aligned nicely which makes it comfortable to use at the same time. I wonder how effective the touch screens would be if they placed the pads in the middle and screen at the top with their flagship MPC.

Which is probably what they will do. Just hope they give stand alone as well as computer based version
