it might take about 2 to 3 years to get to the price u want.

u say u have used most hardware beat machines, have u used the mpc60 or the mpc 3k?

having used the touch do u now think ni will follow suit?

Then you should have hit up NI product specialist, Stoni. She is an expert at setting up Maschine Studio to be used with Live.

I don't think it will take that long, I've an eye for catching good deals. I have used the 60 and the 3000, I have not owned either. I don't believe NI will follow akai as far as the touch goes, it's not a proven concept yet and ni is real chicken, they only want a sure thing imho.

    Not a proven concept? LMAO

It's been exactly 20 years since Korg released the Trinity workstation. Since then...they have released multiple keyboard sampling workstations with touch screens to include the Triton, Triton Studio, M3, Oasys, Kronos, Kronos X and also new arrangers.

I want to turn on my gear and play, not spend ages trying to get it setup. If I cant turn it on, and get my idea down straight away, then I find something that will, hence Push2 and not maschine. Looks like mpc touch could be useful in that respect too. Am awaiting full reviews to start appearing...

I see what you mean and completely understand. However, one thing to note here is that you were wanting to turn everything on and for it to work how you wanted it, not just how it works. Maschine does this for the Maschine software, as Push does for Live (and Touch does for MPC, I assume), but if you want it to be customised, even to use one controller for a different program, you'll have to do some legwork, I'm afraid. I do appreciate that some don't want to do this though and that's why choosing the controller made for the software they want to use will always be the best option.

Just using the maschine as a vst inside ableton was a pain to configure with all the routings and the way it handles midi... dont get me wrong, I like Maschine, had the Studio for a while, and tried, even writing automation wasnt obvious straight away. The quality of the sounds is great, but in the end, didn't suit my flow..

with the 3k and the 60 the pads are also on the left to it should be no bother to use the touch in that respect.

but i think this winter namm should be very interesting; alot more so than recent years.

the other two mpc products that were conceived at the same time as the touch should be announced; also roland are coming back into the sampling drum machine game

As of 1.9, the MPC Software supports:
    1. You can drag n drop an audio file from your desktop, MPC browser, or even Live directly onto an MPC pad.
    2. You CANNOT drag n drop audio or a MIDI file from the MPC onto your desktop or Live.
    3. You can drag n drop audio files from one MPC pad to another.

The next big MPC Software update is projected to do for the MPC what Maschine's big software update did for Maschine. You will have to stay tuned to find out what will be included.

Maschine 1.6 primarily added VST support and Pad Link (aka MPC Simult Pad). No. Not 1.6 but 2.0.

Are you saying the AKAI MPC 2.0 software will be complete rewrite that will allow them to deliver on long outstanding feature request, only to have those feature requests left undelivered nearly 3 years later?

    If so, that sounds AMAZING!

there were no long standing feature requests with mpc that have been unfulfilled for 3 years; unlike maschine which left requests on the table for 5 years.

the only things can think of missing from the mpc software was the audio tracks

There is no company that is going to add every feature request users in the forums want. I am among the most fanatical of sampling drum machine users with a feature request list that exceeds 250 (yes, I keep track of them). LMAO

I personally don't care what product people use in the forums. If you are unhappy with what you have, then ditch it and use something else. Or buy multiple products so that you have a wide variety of tools instead of waiting for NI, Akai, Ableton to give you a Swiss Army Knife.

I have no idea if Akai will do a complete re-write. I do know they have put more time and resources into the MPC line than ever before. 1.7, 1.8, and 1.9 have definitely added features that were at the top of many MPC users' lists. The next update(s) is projected to continue doing the same.

I like them but they didn't fit my workflow. allot of people hate on the 2500 but right now it's my fav, I'm constantly working the qlinks while working the pads, it's my fav live performance instrument as well. I did have the sp-606 and that thing is still a beast!

    @Aldredd, thanks
@JAHROME , thanks that sounds good.

Roland makes fantastic products but you can't but you can't trust them when it comes to supporting those products, whenever they get the slightest feeling that a piece of equipment is not selling as quickly as it should they scrap it and throw it to the side while the customer is stuck with gear that Roland promised to develop and add features to in future updates (e.g. the Roland Varios).
