I'm hoping they'll at least polish up the resampling and add true side chain comp, I'd be pretty set with that and if they want to get into some innovative stuff that would be cool too but it wouldn't take much more to satisfy me.

dammit are you guys serious what are the bugs, does it have something to do with some weird incompatibility with avid files being on your hard drive?

Typical, the major releases from them are usually very buggy. The last release they finally got it pretty stable but the cycle starts over again. Lately NI have struggled with stability more than usual but Mashcine is still less buggy. One of the advantages Maschine has over the MPC Ren.

Akai have been more dedicated lately though so I feel they will eventually get the bugs at least to where it's decent.

Not sure what the real problem is caused by.
Once again Akai has a release with bugs that are basically impossible not to have been a seen by the beta testers.
Seems that they should have been addressed.

Recently, yes. Was horrible before. I think when the developers start listening and putting in features that are important to the users this creates a better atmosphere. Despite the new bugs, Akai are really killing it with the updates lately.

Yeah, they have been through a lot... earlier there were many people who gave up and sold their Ren, but like you said adding key features creates better atmosphere.

I think people get frustrated mainly because the cost of these things and it lacks basic features.. but I trust both companies (N.I/Akai) to get the software's to where it needs to be, 1.8 and 2.3 is still very young.

    Yeah they make expansions-http://www.akaipro.com/product/official-trap-drums
I personally like the new one they just put out. I already have an ipad and imaschine and like it on the go. I also like their new expansion they put out today. Hope this update inspires NI to kill the next update.

I wish they would have put some knobs on it though, I mean it's obvious comp is push but even some tiny little knobs along one of the sides would have been nice and helped out to make a complete solution.

    I know the answer

for someone new who aint used either go with maschine

less menu diving a more modern way of working from the hardware controller

mpc is an 80's menu system that they just keep bolting on new features and it shows

even with the new ndc and the whole process is not as fast as maschine look at all the steps required versus maschine.

even once u have the sample copied to different pads how do u change the individual pitch of each sample? smh

think i'll keep machine around on second thoughts
