It's annoying that they didn't streamline the user experience on the hardware but they most likely didn't; want to alienate MPC users who already have the muscle memory from using the older MPCs. I don't know if this is a big deal or not since I've seen MPC users click away on the MPCs pretty quickly. People get used to stuff like that. However I do agree that in that respect Maschine is better designed. Most Maschine dialogs from the hardware have only one level of confirm, while the MPC seems to have several levels of confirm.

once u learn the commands u need and are used to the os it is quick; but this is due to familiarity rather than good deign.

i had an mpc back in 09 but tryna get back into it after being on maschine for 5 years is slow going,

so someone coming fresh to the game might appreciate the more upto date user interface of machine

far as alienated oldskool users i hear that

id suggest they should have historical os mode for the old head and then do a new 2015 user interface mode with a more updated approach to using the hardware buttons with the lcd screen, so peeps can toggle between which they prefer to use.

presumably judging by the ren prototype that was floating around a few years ago with the tablet screen; and also the advance keyboard colour screen, in addition to the ren2 being on the horizon surely the standard ren/studio lcd interface will be updated?

if they come with the colour screens but keep the old/current menu diving approach, id have to conclude intentional incompetence smh

You looking to make music or use maschine and collect gear? If your into making music with maschines limitations I suggest maschine studio (if you can afford it) with komplete. Their is some dope sounds to inspire you and block out what it can't do. The new polyplex update, new 8dio kits for maschine, new maschine expansion, and some drum broker kits. Add that with Komplete you will be busy and forget what maschine can't do lol.

How about you mind your own business as to what people do or do not do with their gear? This is grown up folks talking right now. If you don't have something to add to the conversation don't say anything.

think the dude did not read the post, everyone has different reasons why they mess with musical equipment.

dude was probably telling himself off; but projecting the things he has been doing out onto other people.

I aint mad at u bro, lol

That post was for people reading the forum trying to decide between the mpc and maschine. I used a MPC 20000XL for 7 years, and to me maschine is faster in sketching ideas out (not making full songs).

Just use the zone section of maschine to layer your drums. Or pad mode switching different groups.

Spent about 2 hours at my friends studio and it's really good. I learned a lot today using it. Brought me back to my MPC 2000XL days.
