Compared to the basic issues that NI cant even sort out (Like the difference between save and save as hahahaha, seriously 2015 and they cant work that out) it looks like the competition is starting to run the game, NI will need to step up soon.

I enjoy my Maschine but NI have got to step their game up, leading today means nothing tomorrow, just ask Akai.
Today, NI reminds me of Akai in 2005-2007, lol. NI's half-steppin has allowed Akai back in the game.
If Akai drop Ren II and Studio II controllers with color pads and color screens, using the 1.81 software..... NI is in trouble.
2015 may really be an interesting year.

If AKAI came out with color pads and the screens guess NI are doing something right.

That's Akai's response to Maschine Studio, N.I doesn't need another controller. It will be a battle of the softwares

2.0 will most likely be released with the new hardware

colour screens yes but i think the subtle colour pad edges look better than the speak n spell type lights we have on maschine.

but both products are almost even but overall maschine is quicker and more imediate to use imo.

but once u get used to mpc u can fly around on it pretty super fast also.

internal filters on the mpc are better and the swing sound better, better layering and song mode

but maschine got better looking software among other things so right now its down to preference

it's amazing how today how the 'midi sequencer' doesn't trump the screens in a musical discussion. The competitions midi sequencer runs circles around maschine, and I'm not even talking about song mode but….. sequencers these days only seem to be important to elektron users, ableton users, and mpc users. people talk more about the screens on the maschine forum than they do on the iPad forum I belong to lol

    This....

It's kinda crazy when you think about it.... Maschine had such a huge lead and NI has so many resources... Akai should have never been able to catch up.

It just shows us how much NI have been bullsh*tting around with Maschine's development.

Agreed. I guess since you have a new update, Akai is winning lol. I think NI dudes work their tales off and have a plan. Don't think their development is bs, maybe somethings are complicated to code. But again, I'm sure they got something for us.

Akai is not winning today..... but NI have allowed Akai back in the contest, when they were dead in the water 2 years ago.
Another 2 more years of NI releasing half ass code, or not listening to their customers, and we may see Akai back on top.
The future is unwritten, so let's just see what happens.

maschine's sequencer isn't even up to par with the mpc 500, (not 5000, not ren) I said 500.
maybe in this state of the art future we live in sequencing just doesn't matter anymore….. I call BS

here's a list of obsolete beatmachines that have sequencers that run circles around maschines software based state of the art futuristic sequencer

    ensoniq asr x
    ensoniq asrx turbo
    mpc 2000
    mpc 2000xl
    mpc-3000
    mpc 500 **********
    mpc 1000
    mpc-2500
    mpc-4000
    mpc-5000
    mpc-ren
    roland mv-8000
    roland mv-8800
    yamaha rm1x
    yamaha rs-7000

    and there are many others….

    but……………….
I think that's all going to change this year and Maschine is going to begin coming into it's own. This is definitely not the last call for Maschine, native instruments will defend their pride this year and we will all be the better for it because all the devs in the game are putting out good stuff. I also think there will be some new devs getting into the fray by the end of the year.
and I have to give credit where credit is due and publicly agree with skinsfandc that Daniel Havers clothes really do need to get picked up from the dry cleaners right away...

but, I don't think Native can get away with another kore-esk debacle. If Maschine goes the way of Kore at this point in time, they will suffer a loss that no amount of sample packs could bring them back from at least not in the short term.

Native Instruments can get away with anything, if you have ever worked in the press you will know exactly what i am talking about, they have most publications in total fear that the next man will get the exclusive, it got so bad (Not only with Native by the way, it is a general thing now) that the publication i was writing for would (And still does) edit and change reviews to fit a particular developer, that was the reason i stopped writing for them, and they where a very reputable DJ publication.
Please show me one publication (Not forum users) who bad mouthed or where even critical of NI for the Kore incident, non of them did haha

that is unfortunate, but I think they discount this forum at their own peril. I know allot of people say that most of NI's customers don't come through the forum but I disagree, we live in an information age and we expect every company to represent itself on it's company site, and although Ni don't directly represent themselves here that much allot of customers do, I think most of their customers do come through the forum.

I would bet less than 1% of NIs customers have ever even visited this forum, their userbase is huge.

Yeah you said the same thing around 1.8. When 2.0 came out with the studio you went quiet. When they incorporate certain features you can only keep up making so many excuses maschine doesn't have this or that. Their is a lot of cool stuff you can do with maschine. Yeah it's missing features but I didn't pay $1000 to have it sit there and just wait until NI would just give me that one feature. If the sequencer is that bad, you have other options. But then you say you like using it. Maybe figure that out first.

Kore wasn't selling that well for NI. Maschine was doing well for them financially I guess. So they put all of their resources in maschine. Kore got discontinued.
