Because I still find many topics about noise and buzzing, I post the solution again.

Battery chargers from laptops as well as power supplies from pc’s can cause interference in your setup. It causes excessive noise and humming through your speakers. While many people advise di-boxes and ground isolators, there's a much easier solution!

If you use a desktop pc, try NOT to ground it, even if your wall outlet isn’t grounded at all. The buzz is mostly caused by the laptop charger when using a notebook, so see if unplugging the power cable (running on batteries), helps.

    How to solve this easily:
Make yourself a dedicated groundless socket outlet by leaving out the ground wire from the power plug. Just don’t connect the ground wire to the plug. You can do it with multiple sockets too. This way you’ll always have several groundless power sockets standby! Use this box for your computers only, then you’ll always be hum free.

Forget di-boxes and ground isolators! They will destroy your sound without killing the buzz!
I’ve been using digital vinyl systems since 2003, and this little thing saved my life many times during outdoor setups!

There are two reasons not to do this:

    a) in most countries, it is against electric safety regulations to do this
    b) doing this can be lethal; grounding exists for a reason.

This works and is save here in Holland and most of Europe.
Your mixer, turntables and cd-players don't even have a ground!
And what about your TV, DVD etc. They use high voltage without grounding.
Many wall outlets aren't even grounded at all.
It's a save trick that's been around here in this forum for a loooong time.

Here is another reason not to do this:

If you do this you will likely invalidate both your own and your employer's insurance.

If you think that electric apparatuses that connect to mains using only two pins are not grounded, you are very wrong. Every electrical machine is grounded. (*) The third pin (commonly known as "grounding pin") is "protective contact", and it is simply just *another* grounding point for the electrical circuit.

(*) Ok, granted, this is very oversimplified view of an extreamely easy concept that is hard to get a grip of if you lack the necessary training.

What do you think "neutral pin" is ultimately connected to?

That still doesn't mean you should go ahead and do it. And no, it is not safe; quite many of electricity induced fires and deaths happen due to invalid wiring done by people who think they can get away with "tricks".

I do totally agree that this is not a 'safe' solution and there is no way in hell I would attempt it. However, buzzing is issue with my setup I've been looking to solve for a while now.

Is there anything you can suggest that doesn't involve the risk of burning my house down?

Power conditioner with lift or filter. I think it's a definite must for all the expensive equipment that we plug in. Can protect from spikes and filter noise. Better protection than a surge protector power strip.
It's not the cheap solution, but your mixer, decks, computer, PA/Monitors are worth it. Especially if you are using your equipment at different venues where the power may not be as clean as at your house.
