The Equalizer is lacking. why?

So recently ive been trying to switch over to Traktor Scratch Pro from VDJ but I have run into a problem. A rather big problem in my opinion. The EQ in traktor doesnt seem to be doing its job, or at least not good enough.

Lets say I have a deck playing and I turn down both the Med and the Treble all the way (or kill them all together) just leaving the bass. I can still here lots of elements from the med/high playing through such as vocals and beat tops. Im not being too picky here. I can actually hear them alot compared to what it should be. At first I thought "maybe the composer did a bad job on the track" but when I load the same tracks into VDJ im not having this issue. VDJ seems to almost completely cut the proper frequencies perfectly.

I have tried all the different EQ Type settings and Filter Selection settings in traktor but it didn't help. Whats going on? I would really like to fix this because I like traktor a lot better than VDJ except for this problem with the EQ.

 

use the kill buttons to kill frequencies completely.

 

this occurs even when using the kill buttons, and to the same degree.

 

change the Mixer model in Traktor preference...

traktor has many kind of Profesional mixer inside it...

each has it own characteristic...
choose which one is good for you...

Do u really hear the Main Signal of Traktor, or do u hear over the CUE/MIX Signal?

Make a screenshot of ur Audio Output Settings and post it!

 

I'm having the same issues with the equalizer, however, using the Classic or Xone mixer setting, the frequency kills work properly.

Still, it would be great if we could automatically activate the kills when the knob is at -100% but that's another discussion. Does that fix the issue for you as well?
