many great effects and practical tools have been and will be created, and GR is on the way to becoming a significant technological part of my career. but being unable to switch presets without a cracking noise (and also a delay in audio processing) while loops or FX are running makes it impossible to use in many situations.

is this problem really so deep that it is impossible to address and solve it? right now GR is first and foremost a set of nice guitar FX emulations, but it's just short of being a powerful creative and live-capable tool - just like you would advertise it, right?

Just use a split tool and make a fast fade while switching the preset, the crackling is not audible anymore!

BUT ther is a really big problem in live situations if usingtraktors12 effects: Switching Presets causes a "off" state of the traktors 12 effects and it is not intended in live situations to turn them all on before using them!

thanks for your advice - very interesting idea, i will have to try this. any logical explanation why this should help or change anything?

however it will not help me as i am controlling everything via foot pedals which are all busy / needed / occupied...

Yea my thoughts are the same, but the use of MasterFX and Containers should work fine. Separate all you amp and cabinet setups...and basic sound conditioning encapsulated in the MasterFX. This stays on all the time, meaning it doesn't switch from preset to preset. You can have several MasterFX setups...though. Your presets that change are the effects. You can have a preset selection of your most used effects and not change a thing except on/off controlling. If another song is completely different then maybe you would have to change presets. Setup your Volume Master so all your presets and equipment are adjusted to have the same DB output you using...that will cut some of the popping and clicking. Each setup need to be adjusted and saved for your equipment usage, otherwise your just out of the box presets...or wherever you got them....and their not matched to you. You add physical preamps or effects in your interface loop...then you have to adjust everything again. I'm just figuring out all this stuff too, I've had Komplete9, GR5 for one year and done a lot of reading since.
