The Finger

Hi,

I wasn't sure what forum to put this in. Couldn't find and effects/the finger forum. Anyway, my question is. Does anyone know what preset in The Finger has the turntable stop effect? I feel like i'm searching for a needle in a haystack here and i'm going nucking futs! Thanks!

 

If you mean a turntable stopped immediately I don't know but if you mean grind to a halt then 'loop device' has a bunch in about octave four to six. I hope that helps and if it does, do you know why or how to use it to any more effect in the new reaktor download with the new version of the finger R2 which i downloaded. I would like to know how to setup and save a bunch of pasted ones from the 40 different pages of effects. If you can't save an editted version/ ensemble of it in the reaktor player, why do they tell us that it has far more usability in the 'new reaktor'.

i can't answer the question about the Tapestop effect.

but you can only save an edited version of the Finger R2 if you own a full version of Reaktor 5.5.1.

what is 'the finger r2'? is that an update?

 

if you purchased the original and registered it, i think i am correct in saying you should see it in the Service Centre as an update.

it is also the version that Reaktor Player owners can purchase.

R2 versions were there after my Komplete 7 update (which included The Finger and Spark anyways) BUT I also received separate emails from NI for 'The Finger R2' and 'Spark R2' with new download links from the NI store (where I originally purchased both). This was within a day or two of 'official' R5.5 release.

 

i see. well i'll run the service centre later and see how i get on. are there any noticeable differences in the new version?

 

I'd like to know what the difference with The Finger and The Finger R2 is as well..
For me as a user of R5.5, not the Player..

I have no chance to load the update next days but would also like to know what has changed.


does Finger R2:

- load faster on ensemble startup?

- contain new Snaps or Sound ?

- Look diffrent ?

finger R2 seems identical to me, except it's not a .ens but a reaktor player file instead.

I asked NI techies what was different for people who own the finger but not reaktor. One part of the answer was that it loads directly into reaktor and not thru kore player into reaktor (which I didn't know it did anyway) thereby saving CPU I guess.

The other part of the answer was that I would get greater benefits in reaktor full version, which didn't seem like an answer to 'what do I get out of the update'. I have pointed out to them that their advert seems to promise 'greater control, even if you don't own the full (reaktor) version'. How?

In reply to your post about not worrying about upsetting people, I guess I do, perhaps a little too much, maybe cos I'm english. Not really sure if I want to change. Well maybe a bit.

As a registered Finger user I have found no way of downloading a ver 2. not from web site or from service centre. perhaps it doesnt matter as it sounds like its not very different.

Need Help with The Finger R2

hey Guys, i have trial Version from Reaktor 5 and The Finger R2 and Full Version of The Finger, im using Ableton Suite 8.2

i have draged a Reaktor 5 Player to MIDI and then i go to Reaktor 5, Player, and switch the Finger R2 and put my favourite or own Song into Audio File and play this.
Bu i cant hear some effects from The Finger R2 ?

what i did wrong or which App i need to use correctly Native Instruments The Finger?

i mean, how can i make my sounds looks like this?

It's an effect. Open your audio file first and place R5fx or player fx into that channel. Press play in ableton and use your midi keyboard to play the Finger. Simples.

but it works only with my mouse yet, not with my midi usb keyboard?

i tryed my realtek sound driver and asio4all but this dont help me.

 

Those drivers are for audio, your keyboard is midi. Check it's "on" in Live's preferences.
