I've had 1.5 lock up a couple of times and quit on it's own yesterday. Also when browsing samples the audio within the group stutters and breaks up like there is a gate on it but nothing like what your experiencing. Have you tried reinstalling maschine? If you do don't forget to back up your stuff!

Latency settings /drivers are mostly the problem... your pc specs are more then enough.
Check for updates for your onyx, otherwise try asio4all to compare driver issues.
Set latency to something like 512, and go lower then that to check.
    On windows, disable antivirus/wireless,..
If those things still don't make a difference, contact support.

But it seems like the update is the problem not the specs. 1.5 isn't that much more demanding that it would cause such a slow down...

If none of us are having the same issue with the update, then how could it be anything else than your own computer? Just saying. Hope you get your issue sorted out.

    Yanosh,

Windows XP SP3 may be the culprit. Simply downgrade back to SP2 and the problem should be solved.

1.Access the start menu and select "Control Panel."
2.Find the "add or remove software" icon and double-click it.
3.Scroll down in the new window until you find the entry for "Windows Service Pack 3."
4.Select the entry and click the "remove" button. Follow the on-screen instructions that appear, and Windows will remove Service Pack 3 from your system.

    Good Luck:D

the OP isnt alone, mine is now struggling, and i share the "slo and heavy" remark, it somehow feels clumsy.....

    vista sp2
    4 gig ram
    loads of hard disk space
    triple processor

tracks/projects are struggling to load where they never used to, if i want loads (more than 5 which isnt that many) of instruments it simply struggles---never used to be a problem

im going back to a total reinstall i think to see what happens......

    Hi yanosh,

if you couldn't solve this yet, it would be good to get more information about your environment (buffersize, host, etc.). Please get in contact with our support, they will ask you the right questions to find out what happens here.

    thanks
    Jens

It can be so many things. For most, 1.5 is the same or better than previous. Seems like a system specific thing.

One theory! Many sofware devs have moved to new code that is optimized for intel core2 processors and newer AMD. You also see PPC support dropped when they do this. If you have a pre core2 processor, this may be a factor of poor performance when moving to 1.5. You really should have a core 2 duo @2.2ghz or better if running a heavy plug like Maschine anyway.

    Just a theory.

Doubtful. SP3 shouldn't be the issue here; I've had SP3 on my systems since it came out.
