This thread might already exist somewhere. If so, sorry.

How about hearing from people who have downgraded to 1.8, who have a chance to say what they miss about the new features in 2.0 they are choosing to do without, and the features that 2.0 lacks that got them to make the jump back.

Personally, the lack of batch midi support is a deal killer, as I use Ableton. So it is with a heavy heart that I have gone back to 1.8. I do not miss the hours and hours I spent trying to get 2.0 to work nicely with Ableton.

I do miss 2.0's drum synth, as it is actually pretty cool. And I prefer 2.0s browser, as it listed more tags for instruments (being able to see all presets tagged "chord" in Massive, for instance). And I hear 2.0 better at integrating non-factory Reaktor ensembles.

But there are really no other features in 2.0 that prevented me from switching back. I also don't see a whole lot of difference in CPU usage between the versions when they're running as plugins (2.4 Ghz i7 mac with 16gb of RAM), so that doesn't keep me in 2.0 either.

Not using either at the mo, but more because of circumstances

I did use 1.8 in a project in December. Will wait it out for them to fix v2, the batch midi was one thing but I was getting a lot of crashing too. CPU never really affected my set ups, theyre pretty powerful and I only use Maschine for beats that are then chained out into Ableton.

Its hard to call V2 a disaster when so many obviously are enjoying it, I just keep visiting here everyday in the hope of word on the next update. Im sure itll come in the next months or so.

I went back to 1.8 solely because of the pre hear and slicing issue.

I really miss the new browser ( importing user folders is so much nicer now as it uses the folder tree of anything you import).
Miss the improved CPU ( It's night and day on my ageing laptop).
Miss the loop selection on the timeline which makes editing smaller sections a breeze.
    Miss sidechain.
I miss the min:sec counter too!

2.0 is amazing, aside from the 'bug that shall not be named' which renders the above improvements null for those that have the issue.

Until this pre-hear issue is fixed 2.0 is a failure, i've gone back to using my Ableton Live rig and my brand new Maschine Mk2 & Studio is in a box
