I think I'll sue NI for giving me Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, then I'll move to Cali and smoke weed all day with the money!

seriously, instead of listening to to users about suggestions they not only add something unwanted and horrible, remove wanted features and call it an update. I won't use 4.1 or update GR until its gone.

Nazi Instruments (Kontrol, need I say more) I won't Komply.

1 more vote for the old menu or at least an option to select "legacy" mode :) All the extra scrolling slows workflow.

Back again, I actually hate using Guitar Rig now. It's just a begrudging necessity. Whenever I think I need a guitar part in my song, I pause and think, damn, but that means I'll have to tweak a tone in Guitar Rig, that monstrous mess of a GUI, that makes me click and scroll and click all f'kn day.

Tweaking tones USED to be what I enjoyed doing most. I wasn't doing much else when GR4 first came out. I used to just load up an MP3 and try to get a tone as close as possible. AND IT USED TO BE FUN! Maybe it's a good thing, I'm actually back to trying to make music instead of imitating guitar tones.

GR4's interface was possibly the number one thing that kept me from switching to Amplitube. I'd demo Amplitube and say, yeah it sounds good, but the GUI sucks, it's such a pain in the ass to work with. GR4 is just as bad now. I saw Amplitube Metal and Hendrix were on sale for $50 each, hmmmm.

Doesn't NI have people that use GR4? Ask them, they'll tell you, the new component menu f'kn sucks, they hate it also. If they don't, load up a copy of the old GR4, watch their faces light up, OMG I forgot how much EASIER this used to be. There is no excuse for how much it slows down your workflow.

    FIX THIS SH*T NI!

and just my two cents, but am i the only one bothered not only by the layout, but also by the way catergories are ordererd. I mean, reverbs are SEVEN categories below Delays. Distortion should come just after the cabs. the pitch also should be upper and i don't get the "special effects" new categories...with a DELAY in it.

You got to be kidding me.

Just a small post to say that I do agree that I do not like the behavior of this new interface either.

    Please NI:
    - make all the categories fit on one screen.
    - try to come up with a way that I don't have to scroll when I opened a categorie

Also, I understand that sorting the categories by alphabetical order is logical, but that may not be the best way. May be you could let us drag and drop the categories so that every one can choose his prefered sorting.

I find myself using a few of the same components over and over again in all my presets. It would be nice to have at the top of the components/categories stack a "My Components" or "Most Used" category that we can drag our favorite components to or that will collect the top 10 most used components of all our presets. This should greatly eliminate much of the scrolling and double-clicking.

It's non-intuituve, it's cumbersome, and it needs to be reverted back to it's previous form.

I would settle for the current system if it would only have one tab open at a time, the tabs were smaller, and more distinct rather than grey on grey :)

Yes, at least make it so once you expand one category (i.e. reverbs) it shows all the category components and all the other windows collapse. Then when you collapse the category it goes back to a view where you can see all categories. No scrolling needed.

    Agree.

When you add stuff it is good behavior to make the old stuff OPTIONAL in the options menu, everything these days goes for horizontal tabs (firefox, DAWs) and vertikal is out already for a long time!

I see that all the new "player" NI variants have that vertikal style, I guess they just made GR4 fit.

It is not correct - we are not the "blinky shiney"-people who want the latest style, we want usability!

    Make it optional!

Yeah man, you speak the word. This is actually why I came to the NI site, I was gonna suggest this as well.

The double click and the arrow on the right are completely unnecessary and those boxes are massive! I have a FullHD display and feel it's a waste of space, wonder how someone on a 13" laptop must feel about this!

Also give an option to include plain effects in the preset search. So you could for example, just type "twin" to find Twin Delay very quickly.

I think its Hell, even more when you open one (or even more?) category. Because most of the time you will have one open.... and this needs enough space itself!

Booo #2 (see technical for #1). This was an easy fix. I think it was at least. I'm no programmer, but this is just a GUI fix and they didn't do it. WTF NI? You can't possibly think this criticism isn't valid. FIX THIS.
