The new preset dropdown

Is great but how does it work? Is it reading all the snaps files available at once and showing them as separate sub banks or can 1 snaps file now contain nested folders of snaps? How does the ens need to be set up to be able to use it? (I notice some of the older ones don't)

 

the snaps seen reflect which Instrument is selected.

could you be more specific about which Ensembles you are referring to because the snapshot architecture can differ quite a lot with different Ensembles.

Let's take one of the new ones as an example then - Lazerbass. There are 3 ssf files (snapshot banks) and the dropdown has a main bank (snaps built into the ens?) and 3 sub-banks which seem to correspond to the 3 ssf's. So does that mean instead of needing to load ssf's individually it's possible now (at least with newer ens) for Reaktor to scan them all and load them all in the dropdown at once? If so what is needed "under the hood" to enable this for an ensemble?

 

I assumed this was just a GUI change in the way multiple banks were displayed on the main window... I think the display in the snapshots window is pretty much the same as 5.1, implying no change in funtionality?

Create several banks and snapshots in the snap browser. Enable the snapshot master checkbox in function properties of an instrument (screenshot). This instrument will become the snapshot master. The banks and snapshots will automatically appear in the snapshots dropdown menu.
