The Reaktor Sessions Bug List

Please post your Reaktor Sessions bugs here. Hopefully if they are all in one place then they will be seen by NI easier:


OK, here's mine:

1 - Some ensembles don't remember snapshots when save/re-open a song/project. Junatik is an example of this.

2 - Dyanmo ensembles crash Reaktor Sessions VSTi as soon as a knob is tweaked?

3 - User library ensembles don't load. Even the new ones that say they are R4 ensembles will not load. They say that the "file type is not known".

4 - Various random crashes when using the browser in VSTi. Haven't pinpointed them yet but will post here when I do.

 

(Ti867, os9.2.2/osX.2.6, 512mb RAM)
1 - (OS9) VST FX in logic only receive left audio in. Sometime crash logic and OS.
2 - (OSX) Can't load or edit sample maps in OSX. As if the sample map editor is 'view only'.
3 - (OSX) can't see VST effects in spark (MDA effects load just fine)
4 - (X/9) Not all user libraries load - perhaps this is due to a problematic conversion from reaktor 3.
5 - Some of the library instruments are buggy, and cause the application to crash.

NI Session looks like a neat introduction to Reaktor's power, It just looks like NI didn't beta test this product at all.
Next time they can do what the props do - Invite 1000 users through the web for beta testing. This makes QA a lot easier, though it's a lot of mails.

PC Session Bugs

On w98/se,384MB, P3/768 Maudio 2496, using in standalone mode

- frequent non-reproducable crashes, on ensemble window autofit, ensemble load
- give CPU overload/audio off during save, but this is non-fatal
- after editing and adding instruments to an esmble, reloaded ensemble had extraneous dups of other instruments
- doesn't seem to handle multiple instruments on multiple midi channels within an ensemble: only one instrument plays if all enabled - but eash can play correctly if soloed
- can access unsed(not in pulldonw list) instrument snapshots with arrow keys, prdocuing strange results
- inconsistent octave shift in some patches when selected

--> barely usable in current form!

First of all, Thank you NI for Reaktor 4.

My Machine G4/1.25 GHZ, OSX 10.2.6
Motu828, AMT8

The Bug:

Standalone Version is not working.

Standalone Version is loading but I can not
play a SoftSynth because there is no MidiFunction.
When I click at the AudioMidi Configuration
in Reaktor then Reaktor immediately crashes.

The Sequenced Machines in the StandaloneReaktor are working because they need no Midi Input.
The AU Version is working with Midi in Logic.

 

More bugs!

More Reaktor Session bugs:

1 - Snapshots not always loaded properly when opening saved song with user snapshot in bank 2 of ensemble (all snapshots in bank indicated as 'default' rather than by the names they were saved as).

2 - Buttons next to morph slider can crash VSTi on when used after opening a saved song with user snapshots.

3 - When opening a song the morph slider buttons appear on the GUI to be set with the left-hand button 'on'. Although on listening it can be heard that the the right-hand button is on (i.e. the switches etc. are based on the right-hand snapshot, not the left as indicated).

4 - When opening a song with an instrument saved and the solo button 'on', the solo button needs to be turned off and on again before sound can be heard even though the GUI indicates that solo is already on.
