The verdict

Hi all, so...I've managed to have a go with this using virtual midi keyboard, midi yoke and a keyboard with just the midi keys left (this actually works well especially if you think of your cheapo keyboard as a sample/s trigger).

Will have to do until I get a real midi keyboard (uf80 looks good).

Just so you know I've never used Kore before so this is from a quick mess around with the sounds. I'm happy to report that as a freebie; Kore Player is excellent and feature rich. It loads relatively quick (changing patches isnt seemless) and works well.

Used stand-alone; the instant gratification from the sound quality alone justifies the download waiting time (4 1/2hrs). This thing is very tweakable and I'm sure theres usable sounds in there for everyone! I'm recording direct into my yamaha AW1600 right now, Kore Player has some really nice sounds!

I can't even begin to value what this program is worth!
It's the best thing thats happened so far this year!

This is the best freebie since ohmboys and their cat released all of their stand alones as free downloads. And yes I am totaly sucked in, I now want/need kore 2.

 

I think that's the idea.

 

just tried it and also quite liked it...
would probably buy if NI finally decided to sell a cheaper software only version aswell, since i have no interest in the controller
