I just purchased and downloaded then installed thie new Deep Freq sound pack, but it doesn't show up inside the kore player browser. I have rescanned my library and i still doesnt appear. Is there something special I need to do to see it in the browser and use it with kore?

You realize that it is not an instrument. It is an effect processor.

You can see the FX packs in the Kore Player by selecting "FX" instead of the Piano button (meaning instruments) on the upper left side of the browser.

I have to throw my hat in here... just downloaded (2 hours ago) Deep Freq and it's nowhere to be found despite repeated installs/uninstalls, rebuilding/scanning of the DB, deleting koredb and restarting, rebooting my machine, and even adding a user path specifically to the folder where the sounds for Deep Freq seem to be in ...common files/native instruments/sounds/ etc....

Does anyone have a suggestion? I'd sure be obliged! fwiw, I've got the other two Deep series soundpacks, Refractions, The Finger, Spectra Expansion... some instruments, some effects.... all installed and showed up in the same manner... which is to say, successfully.

    'till now. :)

Thanks in advance for any advice you might have!

    Cheers,

    Rob

    Hello,

please make sure that you have the latest version of Kore / Kore player, which is currently version 2.1.1. Click on the NI icon to open the About window where you can see the version number.

As already pointed out, the sounds only appear on the FX tab of Kore Player.

If both is not the case, please try the following:

    1) Close Kore or Kore Player

    2) Navigate to the following folder on your computer:

    Mac:
    MacHD/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Kore 2

    PC (Windows 7):
    system:/Users/username/AppData/Local/Native Instruments/Kore 2

    3) Delete the following file:
    SoundPacks.cache

    Best regards,

    Update:
re-set the soundpack cache on the laptop and the Deep Freq settings showed up.
So the problem remains on the MacPro tower.... wierd!

    Thanks for your suggestions, Marius!

Same results as THEDOMUS - reset the soundpacks.cache and Deep Freq now shows up in the Soundpacks column, but no sounds listed anywhere.

My screenshot is the same as well..no search string entry.

    Running Win XP, Kore 2.1.1...

    Hello THEDOMUS and thehipcola,

thanks for the additional infos. Can you tell me also if you have installed Deep Freq after updating to 2.1.1, or did you maybe had an earlier version of Kore before and updated to the latest version after installing Deep Freq. We still try to reproduce the issue on our end, but did not be able to do so yet.

    Best regards,

    Hi Marius,

I installed Deep Freq BEFORE 2.11, so I will uninstall and try installing it now.

    Thanks for the continued support!

Update: uninstalling and reinstalling/activating Deep Freq did not change anything. I see it listed in the Soundpacks column, but no sounds are listed anywhere (FX or instruments).

    Hi Rob,

the sound files must be located under the following path on PC:

    32bit

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Shared Content\Sounds\Libraries\Deep Freq

    64bit

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Native Instruments\Shared Content\Sounds\Libraries\Deep Freq

There you should find 150 files with the file extension *.ksd

Do you see these files on your hard disk?

Btw, are you on Windows XP 32 bit and are you logged in as admin?

    Best regards,

    Hi again,

I could partly reproduce the issue if I try to import Deep Freq with an older Kore version. However, after updating to 2.1.1 and deleting the soundpacks.cache, Deep Freq was imported and all FX sounds where there.

Deleting the Kore database is something else you can try, but please make sure to make a backup as mentioned below to avoid a possible re-installation of all related libraries.

    1) Navigate to the following folder:

    PC
    system:/Users/username/AppData/Local/Native Instruments/Kore Player (or Kore 2)

    Mac:
    MacHD/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Kore Player (or Kore 2)

    2) Rename the following file or move it to the desktop to have a backup of it:

    koredb

    3) Now restart Kore Player/Kore 2.

A new database should be created.

Does this fix the issue on your computer?

    Best regards,

    Hello,

on Mac you can try to fix this by correcting the access privileges of the file "Deep Freq.ksp"

    which is found here:

    Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Shared Content/Soundpacks/

To correct the privileges open the Finder info window of the file "Deep Freq.ksp". Make sure that access privileges for this file show for group: "admin" (add admin as group if necessary) and assign read & write privileges to group (=admin).

Do the same again, this time for a folder:

    Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Shared Content/Sounds/Libraries/Deep Freq

and apply these changes to all enclosed items (important!)

Predicted you are logged in as admin when starting Kore, Kore should be able to find the sounds then.

N.B.: under 10.6 the symbol used for group is the "two persons" symbol. "One person" stands for user (=owner), three stands for "others".

    Hi Marius,

Yes, sounds are located in the proper folder. I am XP 32bit, logged in as admin.

    Hi Marius,

Success! I've just (again) deleted koredb and restarted Kore and it has found the sounds!

Thanks very much for your help!

A summary of what worked for me:

update Kore to 2.11, delete soundpacks.cache, delete koredb, remove and install Deep Freq, and restart Kore 2.

    Hello,

    thanks for your help!
I have receive a mail from NI support, with directions to make it run-
Now, all is ok, the deep frq is awesome.

    Hello Esteban Lucci,

please make sure that the latest Kore Player Version is installed on the
    computer.
It is the 2.1.1 which is required to run the Deep Freq SoundPack.

If this Version is already installed, please go to Macintosh
    HD\User\<username>\Library\Application Support\Native Instruments\Kore Player and
    delete the SoundPacks.cache file.

Please make sure that all relevant Applications are stopped before you do this.

    After deleting, start Kore Player.

Following this thread, this worked for me:
Update Kore to 2.11, delete SoundPacks.cache and delete koredb. Then restart Kore. I didn't need to remove and install Deep Freq

On my XP x64 machine the two files to delete were found here:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Native Instruments\Kore 2

    Hope that helps someone.
