So I just got a Xone 92R and an AKAI MPD32 but I can't find any .tsi maps or anything for it and don't really need the pads plus it is kind of bulky so I want to return it.

I want to get one or two Xone 1Ds to go on either side of my Xone 92R mixer. So are there any good MIDI maps for the 1D or a dual 1D setup? Would the Xone 3D or 4D map work the same with this?

Also does Traktor support the 2D soundcard? I'll probably just keep my Audio 8 but was just wondering since I know the 4D works even though it isn't traktor certified.

I would also consider trying out the MPD32 some more if I could find a MIDI map that worked with Traktor. Having good full control over effects is most important and then I want to be able to sync and loop. It would also be cool if I could use the jog wheels on the 1Ds as platters so I don't have to lug my Technics around.

I am pretty sure the X:4D is now traktor certified... this is discussed in various threads and, i believe, recently confirmed by the folks at NI.

Unfortunately, while a 3D map will work with a 4D, neither a 3D or 4D map will work with a pair of 1D's or 2D's or a combination thereof. IMHO this totally blows as there are a couple of 3D maps I would love to use/modify. I have been working on my own map for dual 1D's, but its extremely slow going. I like the functionality of the zerowanABCD map, but with different midi notes, its a mindf**k all its own...

I'd kill for a good Dual X:1D map.

Alright I wish I knew how to make one. I could go for the best single 1D map in the meantime for use with technics so I wouldn't need the jog for that bud def need effects and looping controls.

The oakstream TSP map is great for use with two decks of vinyl control. I used that as-is for a while before I decided to dump timecode and mix on 4 decks. I'll continue to use it for hip hop and jungle mixing when I use vinyl control.

I have reposted in some of the threads where a dual 1D map was discussed... hopefully something will turn up soon. Or I'll have mine done. Whichever comes first.

a xone:3d/4d map can work perfectly for a 1d/mixer/2d setup - as long as you remap any function using the cue buttons and filter section on the 3/4d.

i used my 3d maps with a 1d/92/2d setup for NAMM08 and had no issues playing 6 hours a day for 4 straight days. remapped my deck focus and everything was ok.

you could make it work with a single 2d as it's shift mode remaps the controls to emulate the left side of a 3d (by default it's like the right.)

2 1d's are a bit more of a pain because the second one requires a total remapping to deal with the midi channel difference. but making maps isn't all that hard and is a great way to learn the functions of the application deeper and establish a custom workflow that is optimized to your own needs for efficiency.

i think it's great to see how we all approach using the same application and equipment, yet create completely different maps and layouts.

as a side note, i think there are a lot of advantages to the 1d/92/2d setup in that it can fit in a carry on (although a bit heavy if you travel with the mixer) and you get the benefit of full channel returns on the 92 for external processing unlike the level only returns of the 3/4d. the independent lfo controls are quite nice too. i miss those on my 3d all the time. if i could modify the cue buttons on a 92 to transmit midi, i'd be set. :)

I will have my dual 1D map ready by tomorrow, I think. Overlays soon after.

I've also been using oakstreams map for the 1D since my purchase, I'd really recommend it. Although, make sure you have free usb ports for each of the 1D:s because it's not able to send midi messages through any USB hub - it has to be directly connected to your computer. I'm not sure if this is the case for a windows machine, but you won't be able to send midi messages with the 1D through a USB hub if you're on a Mac! One soluntion to the problem is however to route the 2nd 1D through midi on the 1st 1D, that is directly connected to the laptop, and power the second unit via a usb hub.

    Read more about it here:

Alright it's been a while since I posted here.

    Here is my current setup:
    2x Technics 1200MK2s
    Xone: 92R
    Xone: 1D

Right now I'm using the oakstream midi map but I think I want to switch to something more suited to my needs or make my own. I am about ready to buy a second 1D but the USB laptop port thing is an issue since mine only has three ports but I guess I can do the linked MIDI/USB hub powered thing or just run everything else off a hub and have the two 1DS plugged directly in but I like having the Audio 8 connected directly, I don't know if it makes any difference through a hub or not.

Anyway I want to try to find or make a perfect 1D map for my setup.

Using the oakstream map as a starting point (I am in no way bashing it, it has been great and I'm sure it works well for some users but I have different preferences) since I have been using for a while now here is what doesn't work well for me and what I want to change (I will probably end up learning to make my own but want to see if there is anything close out there already). The jog wheel for deck loading is good but the knob for scrolling through folders is too slow and I can't seem to adjust it to be any more sensitive. I find myself endlessly twisting the knob until my fingers get sore and I revert to using the mouse+ the tree expand button is in an awkward spot.

I would ideally like to never have to touch the mouse or keyboard when I'm DJing.

The FX controls are okay but I think they could be better and the knob controls are unpredictable and you never know if the knobs will work or which one will do what. I don't use the sliders which are assigned for filters and they could go toward something else like effects.

Since I used turntables with timecoded vinyl for decks A and B I would like to be able to fully control decks C and D on the 1D. Realistically I think I can do everything I need to on one 1D and I have so much gear to lug around already I don't need to add more or spend more money. I just have no experience with MIDI mapping.

It would also be cool if I could have full 4 deck support if I didn't want to lug around the turntables once in a while.

    Thanks for any help.

    Heya,

I am almost finished with my setup for 1D. I have created it a bit like Hawtins setup, with one column for each channel. However I reduced it to only 3 tracks as I would never need 4. The last column I now use for general stuff.

The setup is for midi only - and is not meant for Scratch.

The small buttons I use for looping and beatjumping. The faders is to determine the length of the loop. The two rows of absolute knobs is efx. 1 Delay and 1 Gater for each channel. The top four knobs are list/tree navigation, master bpm and there is a possibility to edit each track's beatgrid if needed. A sort of pitch bend.

Let me know if you are interested and I shall be happy to try and document and send you my TSI (when I have the time).

    P.S. Hifly?

I've got the .tsi but haven't had a chance to throw together an overlay. I am using different color knobs and faders to pimp out the controllers, so I haven't had my mind of an overlay. I may just make a key for it.

My dual map has A&C on the left and B&D on the right...so it probably wouldn't be good for a setup where u are using 2 decks with timecode, cuz I would assume that you'd want C&D on it... maybe I am wrong. You could just go into the TSI and change everything that is set for deck B to deck C... then you'd have a controller for C&D...

I'll see if I can get an overlay or key done by tuesday or Wednesday.
