Thought I was safe but... Fading in and out!

So with all the complaints about the AK1's crackling, popping, fading, I thought I was exempt. But alas, yesterday my girlfriend is playing back music through iTunes and I hear the songs fading in and out slightly from the shower. After a while the music begins to fade quickly and then right off!

I yell at her to stop playing with the big button volume knob, to which she of course yells back, frightened because she thinks the ghost of iTunes has come.

Was there any concluding ideas on how to fix this problem? Or is there a new firmware? Or SOMETHING I missed while this thing was working?

If you were a Windows machine, I'd say it's power cycling on the hubs. With a Mac, I'd say the same thing. Unfortunately, I don't know how to fix the issue with a Mac...

All I can suggest is to make sure everything non-essential (such as network adapters) is disabled. I'd also file a support request if I were you.

    Cool,
    Will do.

That tricky iTunes ghost won't get me yet!

I've searched the forums and have seen talks of power on the hubs etc.
But my AK1 is plugged directly into my USB 2.0 port on my MBP.

My Guitar Rig on the other hand is plugged into my non-powered hub. I'm thinking about plugging everything into an express-card adapter. Anyone have any experience with one of those?

    firmware update

Hi Jay -- there IS a firmware update you can get for the AK1, you should install this and see if it fixes the problem.

Check in our 'unprotected updates' section for the update.
