Looks interesting but to me all the demos sound like music that was cool when I was 25 and I am an old man now.
If you really want to generate the future of sound you need to aim things at what young people are listening to. Not this goofy 140 bpm glitch **** from 2004.
Make interesting slower beats with a nice female vocal over them like FKA Twigs. I would love to hear what young Twigs fans would do with this kind of technology but you wouldn't know it could even do that with the way things are presented.

I think these concerns about the limitations of the instrument are valid. Hence my question above regarding hacking. As soon as I have a spare 100 quid and the spare time (even less likely!) I am going to open this sucker up and get creative! :)

Is it just normal note data under the hood? im not interested in the synths, I want to use it or playing my outboard, but it means an upgrade to 6, and that starts to get pricier

there are pitch and gate signals being passed around inside. the pitch isnt directly compatible with standard scaling but easy enough to scale yourself.

well, 'easy enough' depends on how comfortable you are working through other peoples ensembles and patching in some simple arithmetic here and there :)

Flesh is certainly "different" from most apps and synths. I Like the way you can explore sounds and melodies(harmonies) a lot. I hope in time there will be updates on the sound palette because this will probably be the weak point: after a while you know all the sounds ... But for now it's great fun to play with! This is a track I made with Flesh yesterday:

So how is Flesh for non rhythmic material, drones etc? Is it viable for less glitchy and beaty music? Can it be played like an instrument with midi?

it is possible to stretch samples to create drones - but they are always going to be 'granular' sounding.

MIDI is the key part and there are mappings for Komplete Kontrol and Maschine 2, so yes it can be played 'like an instrument' but you need to ask yourself whether it will make the sort of music/that you want and to be honest, i am not sure.

I downloaded the demo and realized that to get something good out of it there is a learning curve . I am already caught up learning other plugins so I wish I had a chance to experience the full potential of this...

I really like it. - Im still trying to get midi note & gate data out to drive my modular, im not up on core at all - its confusing me whenever I open it up to have a go
