With djay Pro AI and Virtual DJ creating instant STEM and vocal/music/drum isolation software, would be nice for Traktor to get something like this out as well. Something that can work with Mac/PC since many out there can actually handle this processing.

Traktor is known for its flexibility, but recently, they're fallen behind in innovation.

    - Really no hardware / native software to execute FX Isolations (you have to duplicate a track and use mapping to get something close to it)
    - Still no user controlled Hot Cue colors: I'd like to determine colors for certain hot cues / points
    - Greater control and availability for STEMS. Great idea, but didn't get enough people to participate, and alternatives online are lengthy. Now, Virtual DJ has passed Traktor up in on the fly remixing / STEM usage

I love Traktor, and invested a lot into hardware (S4 Mk3, Kotnrol F1, and using two Allen Heath K2's for extensive mapping options), but they need to tackle what the rest of the industry is currently doing.

It's ridiculous that they weren't the first to do this. I'd even pay for this feature as an add on. I started using Virtual DJ and it's amazing, but it's really just for this feature, I'd jump back to Traktor in a heartbeat if they have instant stems.

Totally support this, yes please NI add it, but do it better than the others since you were the ones who came up with stems in the first place. In terms of the actual stem manipulation while DJing, in Traktor it is much better than the other programs, it is just getting the file into the correct format that is the issue. Anything that bridges this elegantly and quickly - either real time separation into four waveforms, software in Traktor or separately in which you can batch-create your own stems from existing files, or batch processing in Xtracks stems - would be great.

Have any of you tried this stem extraction software? It's on sale for $25 (USD) until Nov. 30th. It's made for Traktor Pro 3

Thank you! Looks very interesting. I'll dig deeper into it, but the only thing that it lacks is the ability to do everything in real time. It seems you need to import and extract everything, saving it separately, vs what Apple does (drop a track live and it can do it without prior analyzing)

However, it is a step to help create them for tracks I use a lot. Thank you for the info!!!

I will love to be wrong but my gut says "this bridge was burnt long ago..."
Maybe NI reconsider it recycling some of the development done into something new but I'm not so sure about how profitable (and rock solid) could be over Traktor Pro 3 meanwhile I'm also not very confident about the Traktor Dj 2 roadmap by itself... and less if NI need to put this on top priority (if stems were never be part of Traktor Dj 2 in the first time...)

I see the point and I will love it but I'm not sure about NI finding it "profitable" (revenue - cost)

Lots of dead threads about stems... I wonder where they will go with it next.

I'd like to see a stem track with 16 parts so you can use a proper studio multitrack and really go nuts, use the F1 to it's full potential

I answered the post you made so please check it for my whole opinion on that.

About 16 tracks stem file it will be hard to see (but not impossible). I dreamed time ago about a turntable-shaped groovebox but that was more or less remix decks with dvs control and it never get truly off. Nowadays I don’t need it and in retrospective looking probably wasn’t a good idea neither. Just convoluted workflow from my Hiphop background “way of think”.

If you need 16 track stems and scratching isn’t a must the best option is still Ableton (or Akai Force or M+ to a certain degree due its own limitations). If you need the “mixing workflow” (two turntables an mixer paradigm) then there are solutions but these will require a bit of tinkering and probably will not worth the pain and the inherent stability issues. One option could be split your material into 4 NI stem files and load them into Traktor 4 decks but then no more fun… or 2 files (8 stems) and 2 remix decks… think about it and share your thoughts.

In the end NI get Maschine and Traktor isolated as products. Syncing came from Ableton link so go figure… NI statd they are trying to unify strategies but Traktor was on the edge with sales rumouring

So the point was… if you want to produce/finger drummer you have maschine andF1 but if you want to mix then Traktor 2 decks… some remixing? 2 decks with 2 remix decks. More remixing? Stem decks and remix decks… but djs are late to producing their own stems party and labels didn’t want to release stem files blahblahblah… so spleeter arrived and there’s still people ranting about “quality” so maybe the technology will not get mainstream neither and dissapeared too…

    Time will tell…

Haha nice one thanks for the reply! I just thought it would be nice to have a folder of about 100 Hip Hop party tracks, all of which I've used Spleeter or something to split into stems and just do an uptempo on the fly party style mix, like a mega mix but in real time.

Bridge too far maybe, I dunno... I will keep my ear to the ground and over the winter I plan to teach myself the best way to work with it all for me and see what I can come up with!

    Hey guys,
Maybe NI and Izotope could include some tools, something like RX-8 (not exacltly) using to do this isollation in Traktor Pro.

    Peace!

Thats true, but on the fly vocal isolation for ex. give's so many opportunities for live remixing. This feature would me help so much
At least Traktor should keep up with other DJ Software
