Can we PLEASE have the time stretching feature on the Maschine!
Sampling has been around for years now and the ability to time stretch is standard in all sampling software/hardware.

Come on NI.. Its not rocket science.. You can do it!

    Thanks

    Thanks for that ;)

I'm pretty sure this is being discussed elsewhere though

I was actually browsing through the forum yesterday to see if Maschine has the ability to alter audio loops' tempos :) . Hopefully this ability gets implemented soon. Even the $20 iPad djay app can speed up or slow down audio...not crystal clearly but still

Try searching this forum first next time as this topic has been covered many times already and you would know that NI has been working on high quality realtime timestretching for Maschine for quite some time.

In the meantime, there's a few different ways to timestretch in Maschine currently. There's the old school way using Maschine's built-in sampler to get that lofi timestretch:
    http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=119404

And of course, you can use any VST/AU plugin that does timestretching like Reaktor, Kontakt, Melodyne...etc. and there are also free plugins like stwETCH and Speedster.

Thanks for the info noiserot, I did check the forum for this topic however I created this post out of sheer frustration. NI have so many other products that offer sampling and time stretching.. I'm confused as to why we've had to wait so long for this simple update for the Maschine.. I'm sure they could add it relatively easily if they want to. :(

Thanks for the link, I'll definitely check it out

if they could add it easily they would have done so already.

the present Sampler is quite basic. i am quite positive that they would wither have to add an additional Sampler that does time stretching or completely re-write the code for the present Sampler, both of which could cause all sorts of buggy problems.

Hmmm. That's a good idea. The whole modules thing means that in the future they could have different samplers, instruments to put in that slot. I never thought of that. If that was how Maschine was designed then that's quite forward thinking and elegant, imo. I know that you didn't mean this is what NI is doing but it only makes sense, imo.

i am closing this thread, as we really do not need another debate about timsetretching that starts to get nasty, and this is starting to get nasty.
