what about a dfd that actually works and doesnt cause my pc to freeze every so often?

im not the only 1 either, and i dont use it no more

 

-I´d like to be able to expand the gui to use the whole screen. I use Kontakt standalone and there is so much free space on the screen wasted...
-undo would be nice (kind of necessary)
-the ability of automatically switching to a group when I select a sample from that group.
-drag and drop copying of samples
-master fx
-some kind of automatic velocity layering (now it´s really time consuming to do 16 velocity layers)

 

I fully agree with Undo, etc. But I think a couple of your requests already exist.

First: you can fill the screen with Kontakt by changing the display sizes in OPTIONS/USER INTERFACE - just set it to the full (or beyond) size of your display.

Second: if you select a sample, it already automatically switches to whichever Group the samples is in, I do this all the time.

Third: Kontakt does have a kind of automatic Velocity Layering, if you name your samples logically, like "Snare_Vel_01, 02, etc", select them all then drag them onto one Zone, they will evenly layer; but I assume you want it do something more complex?

Also: what is "drag + drop copying"? From one Instrument to another?

Yes, I am kind of dissappointed with the DFD feature. No improvements for me since 1.21. That 1.5 upgrade was nothing at all. For almost two years there has been very slow development.

Maybe I should have voted for Halion?

 

Better legato support

I would love to see better mono legato support for the regular Sampler mode. What I'd really like is when switching between notes that are in different zones to be able to define a point in the sample that I am switching to (which could be the loop start point) where the playback will start during legato playback. That way you could bypass the attack portion of the sample.
Another possible implementation would be to be to use groups and be able to use legato playing style as a condition for which group gets triggered.

 

My list is rather short and crucial. I NEED ReWire support to work efficiently with Kontakt and Digital Performer. It's the only way to have multiple chunks in a project and keep track of what's going on at all.

Some feature adds from Reason would also be welcome. I always use the feature that lets me play a note on the keyboard, and Reason automatically selects that zone's parameters. NN-XT's interface is much more logically laid out as well.

 

I second that suggestion regarding mono legato...It would really help with solo winds etc. Another way to do it would be to allow more modulation sources for sample start; if you could use the DBD envelope for this purpose you could start a sample later if the envelope had not been retriggered(which can occur when all keys are up.)

It would also make life easier if you could make the mapping editor bigger when you are working with it...my eyes start to hurt.

Improved CPU efficiency and DFD on the Mac, and please Kontakt should be able to utilize the dual processors. (why use only one when there are two ?)

I think this will make a lot of Kontakt user's on the Dual processor Mac's very happy.

sort the lfo out. (see any other synth sampler or just about anything with a lfo if your not sure NI!)

Sort the portmento so i can make mono port basses (again see any other synth sampler or just about anything if your not sure NI!)

Cut copy paste undo on ctrl X C V and U(see word processor on any computer upwards of 486 PC )

include a free microscope to read the writing.

Even with the large fonts turned on, you think the writing's too small?

 

I'm using version 1.2 so the mouse works and so i dont get the dreadded red headlight effect when i select stuff.

Why has the newer version got a larger font? There goes my microscope idea!!

 

Yeah, first off: the fonts are all white instead of green, and you can switch to a MUCH larger font, larger than most VSTi's, I'd say! I never had a problem with the fonts, but I remember the first thing my brother complained about when he saw Kontakt was the fonts.

Dude. The mousewheel does not work at all anymore in Kontakt. Not for me, anyway. They even included options in the last update to address this...they did NOTHING. I do so miss v1.2.1

All I can reckon is that a lot of stink is being raised, and I persistently send in my bug reports and I always get a real response assuring me that the developers have my comments. So, that's all I know, because the company is simply not showing up around here, what with all those other pretty products and NAMM and all...who knows.
