Why not give K2 its own sequencer?

A lot of problems in this forum are dealing with K2 and host conflicts. A true standalone K2 would surely be a lot more stable then what I have now and any problem customers have with your software you can fix it without having to tell customer that it’s not your product that not working right it’s the host program that’s the problem.

I like it ;-) who provides the sequencer?

or why not use Kontakt like Gigastudio on its own computer with 64 MIDI channels going in either with hardware or via a network tool?

better than spending all the money on one oversized machine that most software cannot really make use of currently. e.g. two dual core G5s with 4 GB RAM instead of one quad with 8 GB RAM.

    Dear Mr. Markus,
It may not have seemed like it but it was only a question.
Maybe I’m comparing soft synth to soft samplers, or didn’t use the right word, but I’m speaking of being able to record and arrange music or music patters inside to Kontakt.
That’s pretty much what you need to run Kontakt at its current state.
Why cast stones in a glass house? I didn’t make a comparison of K2 w/ any other product.
That’s not what the system requirements say in the users guide… Could just be a type-O in the one I got…

I guess I’ve found out the hard way not to ask question to the NI team on there own forum.
May be you assume that I know what you know about YOUR sampler - but that’s not so. If that was the case I would be there having watercooler talks and you would be here “chillin” counting the days on the calendar.
If the way it was written makes it seem like I was making more than a suggestion or asking a question- I wasn’t.
-It’s better to lead than follow, unless you follow well... Where does K2 fit in?

    Hi Mathematiks,

it was not meant in a bad way either.

seriously things like adding a fuill-blown sequencer into Kontakt or even rewire support are way to complex and timeconsuming. and that is not even counting the time to develope that sequencer part.

running Kontakt like Gigastudio on its own machine is not the worst solution if you want to use it stand-alone and use all 64 MIDI channels (somthing that is just not possible in plug-ins).

I heard that some people buy really high end computer but then we also know that you can't e.g. use more than 2 GB in Kontakt so splitting your system in two and using network solutions for MIDI and audio is maybe not a bad idea.

    Best,
    Markus
