Hello, I have a question regarding midi and modifiers. I have a Xone1D and would like to set a button so that if pressed once it would assign Deck A to fx unit 1. Pressed twice it would assign to fx unit 2 and if pressed a third time it would revert back to no fx unit.

Obviously once I have an answer I will be repeating this with another 3 buttons (Deck B, C, & D)

The problem I have is this button is already assigned to another function so it would have to be a SHIFT function also. I think whats blagging me is how many modifiers would I need and how I would arrange them all.

Sorry if this isn't the most clear of requests, I have had a look throughout the forum and finding it hard to find something of a similar request.:(

I don't think the ability to do this exists within Traktor at present, but you could easily rig something like this up in Bome's (You'd need the Pro version rather than the free Classic version though). I've got something similar to this going on myself, but I had to rig it up this way, rather than directly through TPro.

Curses :( I had that and one other problem to solve and I would of made exactly what I wanted! Tis an excellent piece of hardware the Xone 1D, really would reccomend this controller to any DJ out there :)

The other thing Im trying to solve is I have two rotarys assigned to parameters 1 & 3 on an advanced fx unit. I want to be able to press a button (again it would have to be with SHIFT held down) so I could change the rotary to control parameter 2 not 3.

Any ideas on that one matey?

You can easily do that one by assigning the rotary to a modifier.

    Eg. Param 2: M1 = 1
    Param 3: M1 = 2

Set your shift button to change the M1 value between 1 and 2.

You can read more about modifiers in Rainer's Traktor Pro bible (which I really wish I'd known about when I was doing my mappings!) http://www.traktorbible.com/pages/midiguide.en.html

    Hope that helps :)

yes that works, what you need to do is implemeting a tristate button instead of a toggle button. I try to explain with Modifier #8. This modifer is used to remember, in which state we are.

STATE 0 = no FX unit connected to deck
STATE 1 = FX Unit 1 connected to deck, FX Unit 2 not connected
STATE 2 = FX Unit 2 connected to deck, FX Unit 1 not connected

RULES: it is only possible to switch from state 0 to 1, from 1 to 2, and from 2 to state 0

state transistion from 0 to 1 needs follwing commands:
    - FX Unit 1, Direct = On, Modifier Condition: M8=0
    - FX Unit 2, Direct = Off, Modifier Condition:M8=0
    - Modifier 8, Direct, Set to value 1, Modifier Condition M8=0

now we are in state 1, transition from state 1 to 2 needs following commands:
    - FX Unit 1, Direct = Off, Modifier Condition: M8=1
    - FX Unit 2, Direct = On, Modifier Condition:M8=1
    - Modifier 8, Direct, Set to value 2, Modifier Condition M8=1

now we are in state 2, transition from state 2 to 0 needs following commands:
    - FX Unit 1, Direct = Off, Modifier Condition: M8=2
    - FX Unit 2, Direct = Off, Modifier Condition:M8=2
    - Modifier 8, Direct, Set to value 0, Modifier Condition M8=2

we are in state 0, and the whole game can start again

It is even possible to extend this, by using a 4th state (both FX units are connected to the deck)

    Happy mapping!

Another reason to hope for a quick release of 1.03:
So I can order the bible ASAP..
