I'm loving the new stems support. I have tried out a few tracks and this is it for me. Does anybody know if there's a site or source offering top 40 and pop .stem files? I do a lot of weddings and small clubs, so it would really come in handy. I know I could find the stems and use the creator tool, but that's so much work. If that is the only way right now, is there a fairly easy way to get all the tracks lined up and mixed down in a .stem file? Thanks!

Yeah, good point about the remixes. It would be great if the stem creator tool had an editor section that could analyze and beat grid tracks. It would be way easier to line them up. Also, does it not accept .mp3s? I tried importing an instrumental and acapella and it wouldn't let me.

Which would be unofficial / and most likely illegal remixes found on dubious websites I guess. I doubt that the big labels would allow the release of top40 STEMS..

i think the biggest problem is: a proper target audience :)
i was an electro dj for like 15 years, but i was interested in what you call TOP40 DJism.

We called ist Mashups and i was deep in the Scene ;-)

and since i heard and read (and bought) and KONTROL S8 i'm thinking:

this is *youknowtheword* made for a crazy person like me.

In the end, it will be too much work and invested money for something they don't really sell.
because even thou I am interested in having Pop Music - stems, i'd always prefer to make one "mashup stems" out of 3 or 4 Songs i choose and bought, other than spending money on one stem from a popidol band.

and @kallekenkel , why is it illegal or unofficial to have a Remix of a Pop song?
its just, since you can buy single tracks out of a an album, nobody is releasing singles or e.p.'s with extra remixes anymore.

so in the end it will be a nice Trial & Error session tonight to find out which of my 4 parts will work in what track in the stems creator tool....

have phun, i'll let you know how it all worked out....if you're interested

    my opinion:
as mobile DJ I play a lot of mainstream and charts. STEMS for this would be a dream as I could mix a little more during a gig as I can do today. "mix" in the meaning of play around the wished stuff with a little more creative approach.
BUT: said to say: I don't believe that the famos top chart tracks will ever be available as STEM.
The reason is pretty simple: For guys like Mr. Guetta it would mean a lot of money lost as these guys are selling right now plenty of remix versions of their tracks. Have a look how many versions you can buy from the top track of those giuys. Avicii, David Guetta....all of them have at least 5 or 6, sometimes much more, different remixes that you can buy.
If the track would be available as STEM...for a lot of DJs there is no more reason to pay for remix versions as you can remix yourself however you like. Use vocal with other instrumentals, use instrumental with other vocals...change the complete sequence of the track....unlimited. So I believe the labels and properbly as well a lot of artist will fight against this.

But let' wait a little time and see the development. Might be the case that I'm total wrong......and I would appreciate if I'm 100% wrong!

I spent a few days downloading multitracks, mixing, and bouncing stem files. I could only work on it part time, as I am in school right now, but with a little time and a consistent method, I was able to make about 30. This isn't something I would do all the time, as the process is time consuming, but if I had an upcoming gig, I would spend a couple of days putting stuff together this way, as well as within the context of a normal record crate.
A HUGE part of Djing is preparation, and this was true long before stem files.

I noticed a few new uploads on beatport, still not the familiar top 40 artists but some more variation.

Has any label or top 40 artist made stems? Still can't seem to find any.

I’m looking. I hope they do. Stems are going to make mixing song with a lot of vocals easier, that’s for sure. Hate mixing when vocals are on top of each other. Doesn’t sound good.
