Add me to the list i have a Toshiba 215 series with the AMD Turion 64x2 1.9ghz and 4 gigs of ram. I get a poping sound when playing and it comes & goes I ran dpc latency checker and it confirms my audio drops are DPC spikes I tried turning off my wifi and running game booster also changed my power settings to performance and I still get pops. I have this problem with my audio 8 and my bcd3000 I think its the fan kicking on & off thats causing my problem since I have tried everything else from reinstalling windows 7 to bios updates nothing seems to help me I tried adjusting the latency but still I get pops randomly. I may try one of those cooling trays if that fixes the problem I am going to sell that POS!

Nope I am on AMD and have the same BS whats sucks is aside from this pop that seems random my CPU does not seem to be working very hard I think its a fan related issue. Glad you caught it early and moved on.

I set my power options for performance then I disabled in the device manager the lan, wifi, modem, soundcard & the Microsoft APCI-Compliant control method battery not sure which one fixed it but no more popping or audio drop outs after 3 hours non stop of play on 2 different sessions for a total of 6 hours without a drop out or pop. My fingers are crossed that this will my fix.

    Toshiba Qosimo X500 Notebook

    Hi All

    I have a Toshiba Qosmio X500 running with an i7 core and 2 x 500 gig HDD 4gig Ram. Running Win 7 Ultimate (64bit).

At first I had nothing but problems nothing would run not Traktor Pro zip nothing it would drop out freeze up lag, hiss crack pop or just plan fail. Perfect for doing a set NOT.

Not bad for a $AUD2500 laptop! I had just about given up getting this monster to do anything when the S4 came around and I thought great this piece of crap will finally earn it's keep and I bought the S4. Well FK ME it failed to.

After following the advice on the forums with multiply reinstalling of updates/OS/Traktor turning on and off USB ports I was about to throw this piece of crap out the window and buy a $AUD1000 laptop as recommended here.

I took it back to Toshiba only to be told their laptop was fine no hardware faults! and that NI should re-write it's software to run on a Toshiba! Their solution was to re image the laptop.

Finally Toshiba suggested trying their new bios update which they said would fix the lag!

    WELL FK ME AGAIN

It fixed the Damn lag! The machine has performed faultlessly on the test bed running for periods or up to 7 hours straight with the tracks all looped! No drop outs, lag or clicks/hiss when changing tracks or selecting FX.

I'm going to try it at a gig this weekend as the ultimate test but fingers crossed it might just work.

If it does then there might be hope for Toshiba owners with the bios upgrade. I'll report on the outcome in a few days.

I also had it running so far without faults with the Traktor ASIO drivers and the ALL4One ASIO drivers.

I hope it works for you as well.

    Cheers

Ok I did the gig and had two songs stutter after 3 hrs and then keep playing I will try running the ALL4one ASIO driver at the next gig.

    Cheers
