total control leds not working

I bought a numark total control the other day. I have set it up but none of the leds work properly on the controller. There are 2 lights that are constantly on and do not turn off(the left play button, the right pitch indictaor light). and none of the leds turn on wen i activate the buttons. Y is this? I have searched the forums and not found any solution but a few people have had this problem. are there some mapping issues...but i dont see y it should not work. i am using traktor LE.

another thing, I thought the Numark TC would work with my Mbox2. But it does not beacuase the mbox only has 1 stereo output. this means that i will have to buy the dj io soundcard, the guy in the shop told me it would work with an mbox. Is it possible to makeit work, because i have fiddled around with it for a couple days now, and it just does not seem posinle. i feel i should have bought the bherringer, as it already has a built in sound card, would have saved alot of money.

no i am on mac tiger 10.4.11.

I bought the DJ IO soundcard today. I thought this may solve the LED's issue, but it hasnt.

The leds still dont work on the hardware. I explained this issue to the guy who sold it to me in West End DJ in Tottenham Ct Rd. I also bought the DJ IO sound card there today. - He tells ms that the LED's will not work properly with Traktor and that they will only work with Numarks Cue software. Surely this is not true! have i just got a faulty unit? should i take it back?

 

Could be that this is true and the lights only work with CUE software. Otherwise have a look into the manual of the total control if there is somewhere a chart with the midi implementation, which LED needs which control command to light up. IF this is in, assign the output in Traktor...
