Is anyone using just TP/TSP with just a PC Laptop and no midi controller or cdj's/tt's?

Let me know if that's working out right?

    Thanks!

I did when i first got started. I mapped the keyboard out in a very simple way much like an old Denon cd player .
Heres a photo i just found. The dots are the hotkeys. All they do is simple Transport / Volumes / EQ controls. Nothing else. Very very simple but it worked.

You can make your keyboard settings as elaborate as you like but i started simple with this layout and it worked.

You may find that just using the keyboard is fine at the start but as you get into the program you want more control . Thats when you may start looking at controllers ?

To be honest i still use that simple layout but with a few additions (about 10 more keys) as i use a contoller/turntables.

Awesome! Never thought about it in that sense...

I have the Trigger Finger and I'm debating if I should keep it or return it. Is there any controller that gives you so much hands on that you only need to go to the computer to change a song?

I have been using TP on an HP desktop for months now. Just using the mouse. No controller. I have been really surprised with what you can do with just the mouse. I have two controllers sitting on the floor just waiting to be used but have not gotten around to hooking them up. I did buy a DaScratch and was not to happy with it so I disconnected it and have been just using my mouse! Also I am using the internal mixer. I have a Macki D.4 but have not used it yet.

Do you have a mapping for your layout?

Depending on how it's mapped, the Trigger Finger can definitely do that. Between the TF and my VCI-100, the only time I really need to touch the computer is to browse another folder in my playlist. Still, I do like typing the song names, much faster for a geek like me.
