Trying to sort my music collection out in Traktor.
I purchase all my tunes via beatport and they come with numbers rather than artist names...
been through my whole collection and manually changed the file names to correct artist names etc yet they still come up with the numbers in TSP.
Is there any way to sort this?
I know there is stuff linked to id3 tags? but will admit my knowledge with this side of things is poor.
Have scanned through the forums but have only come across threads linked to the beat marking but im using timecode.
Any help will be greatly appreciated...
running TSP latest version on Macbook.
    thanks in advance...

traktor won't read your filenames, it will read the id3 tags.

traktor is able to write id3 tags, but there are other programs as well.

    like the free utility MP3tag.
I find this tool quite a pleasure to use, since it is also able to change all your file names from info taken out of the id3 tags or vice versa.
This helps me a lot when cleaning up filenames from songs i've downloaded

Traktor is probably reading the track info from the RIFF chunks inside the wav file. The flac encoder will allow you to compress the wav files to the flac format and also tag the resulting file with the artist/track info from the filename. This tag info will then appear in your Traktor collection.

If you've got a lot of wavs then this would be your quickest option, rather than manually retyping all the track info.
