Tracks in the Browser section are all sorted in order of the info in the ID3 tags.

It would be nice to have an option to select between the ID3 tag, or the actual tracks filename for viewing and sorting in the browser.

My ID3 tags are all over the place and some aren't filled in, but my filenames are perfectly numbered and written out as i want them.

Now i have to edit Tags on 5000+ tracks.

a suggestion: use mp3tag to update the id3 tag based on the file name. if your files have been named carefully, this is a cheap way to obtain high-quality tags as well.

MediaMonkey also allow you to do so. If your filename format is constant you'll do it in a snap.

Thanks for both your suggestions. Noted....but i'd still have to do them all one by one wouldn't I?

Track file name is a selectable field for the browser window, so you can get it displayed and sort on it. I just tried this and it worked fine.

With most sensitive Tag editors, you can do batch job, you select a bunch of file, then process them. Really handy.

Now that sounds interesting! Any suggestions which one? I'm using one called ID3 Editor, but i don't think it has the batch option.

    Thanks for that.

MediaMonkey allow that, Tagscanner as well. Be carefull with Tagscanner, it will also delete cue point and I think beatgrids as well.
