TraCoConverter – Convert Traktor metadata (cue's, grid..) into TXT, CSV, XLS, DJ Player Pro

I'm guessing not but is there any change on this for TDJ2? I'm a scrath pro user and have just downloaded DJ2 for mac so i can use a Kontrol S2..... losing the will to live if i have to re-do all my grids and cue-points!!

 

Your post is related to TraCoMerger (not Converter), as you want transfer between TPro and TDJ, but doesnt matter, anwering here: Yes, your assumption is right (unfortunatly), NI still does not support any collection.nml in TDJ2, thats why we can't transfer to TDJ2. The NI folks mentioned that metadata import from collection.nml is on their roadmap, but i have no idea when they will realize. So i cannot use TDJ2 in productive too (i have thousands of metadata) that's why i still use TDJ1 and TPro. But thanks for the question , i will post this in the TraCoMerger thread too.

Would you advise trying to get TDJ1 and using TraCoMerger? Wish I could run pro with the S2, would be a lot easier!

 

I personally love the TDJ1 still. Sure it is somehow old fashined compared to TDJ2, and of course far away from TPro features .. but it works rock solid, and i do not need any laptop on traveling gigs. So i can use my S4mk2 with an iPad .. having all my meta data from TPro . And i may remember that TDJ1 supports S2. Oh i forgot to mention: of course you need an iPad & iOS for TDJ1 (no Mac/PC support as on TDJ2).

Maybe try it one: your S2 + TDJ1 (on iPad) .. if all work, if you like it and you want to transfer your TPro metadata to TDJ1 send me a private post, i am happy to help on questions

 

thanks Kalo - appreciate the help! I was planning on running through mac as i haven't got an ipad (using a android tablet) but was reading about using the S2 as a midi controller with traktor scratch pro so going to try that first. If all fails will try and get TDJ1 on a tablet and hit you up!

.. and i am happy about your CMDR (TSI Traktor mapping editor) .. I use it so often, cmdr is the best Traktor Pro mapping editor on world for sure, the 'switch knife' for TSI

i wished it would work with TDJ2 too (but TDJ2 is a closed shop) so i still use it to transfer meta data from TPro or TDJ1 to DJPP
(and the colored Excel export tells me which songs i forgot to tag)

I have a new Mac and iPad but no windows except for an old machine with XP on … does this work on XP? Or do you have an old version ? I’m trying to install it and keep getting a windows error (I’ve installed net 4.0)

 

You can use TraCoMerger (not TraCoConverter) to transfer any meta data to other Macs or iPads. Windows with Net 4.0 is needed, XP often struggles, too old. But maybe send a private conversation if you struggle with all these installs .. i could try to help you to convert your important meta data once from older TDJ (ipad) to your TPro on Mac.

Prior to any follow ups: In case you still have still your older ipad .. with TDJ1 and meta data save the iPad collection BEFORE you install any TDJ on any other ipad! (i want to avoid that NI/iOS cloud removes your important meta data with any installs forever ).. so better do this:

Where can I find my collection.nml in Traktor DJ (iOS) ?
Open iCloud and you will find the TDJ collection, two ways how you can access iCloud:

• My Recommendation: Use any Mac/PC and login via web, link: https://www.icloud.com
• Alternatively: Use original Apple ‘iCloud Drive app’ on iOS (if it is not installed yet, search in the Store for it)

Now open iCloud and search for the ‘iCloud Drive’, open drive .. you will find ‘Traktor DJ’. Open this folder, you will find the file ‘collection.nml.gz’. This is the compressed (gz-zipped) collection.nml. Save it on a safe place on PC/Mac. Open (unzip) on your local PC/Mac with double click .. inside is your ‘collection.nml’ – this .nml file (not the nml.gz file) is needed for TraCoMerger.
