TraCoMerger – Combine Traktor collections, Transfer metadata between TDJ and Traktor Pro

Love the sound of this app!
I've tried to run on a Mac - i've used Wine, Wineskin and PlayonMac - i've installed .NET components in each but it fails every time
Has anyone managed to get the app to run in a wine container? anyone have a winebottle they are willing to share?

I do not own a MAC so can't help unfortunatlly, could you solve yourself meanwhile, or any user did ?
If not, what you can do at least: run the app on any friends windows PC, you do need your 2 collection.nml only (no itunes, Traktor, song collection or whatever needed on windows PC). Even you cant install, open the zip and have a look inside the file TraCoMerger_Help.html, this online help explains more details.

In case no friend can help, send me your nml in a private chat and i can merge for you

 

Hi Kalo! I'm a new member in the forum just to be able to ask you a questions. Is there a way you can make tracomerger transfer cue points from dj player pro's collection to traktor pro collection?
I'm exited for the new update and I want to switch from iPad to laptop.

 

Hi Ryan, welcome .. good question. You may know that my other app (TraCoConverter) transfers from Traktor Pro (Mac/Windows) or TDJ (iOS) -> to DJPP (iOS). But you ask the other way around, right ? Lets answer this way: It is not possible to make a TraCoConverter from DJPP to T because many infos which is needed in T is not stored in internal DJPP database (artist, genre, etc..). So a TraCoConverter enhancement is not possible.

What could be possible (but a bigger dev effort): Enhance the TraCoMerger with this, because there you have the original collection and import certain infos (grid, bpm, cues) from import files (so maybe DJPP database should be allowed as import file). So yes .. I could make this enhancement maybe in future relases .. but it is a lot of effort and i do not have the time in moment for this. And btw .. first we should wait anyhow what a new TDJ and TPro3 will bring us (we all hope/expect a TDJ update because the new S2mk3 etc.).

Hey, btw everybody jumps from laptop to mobile, loving TDJ or DJPP .. so let me ask you: why do you plan the other way around ? Why would the direction DJPP to T make sense for you? .. because you want switch once from iPad to laptop (forever) .. or because you want to use both in parallel (in this case a Q more: which one would be your master then ?)

 

not forever. the thing was that I switched from traktor to djpp is because I was getting bored with traktor also other dj softwares were updating and traktor wasn't... also, the browser was awful and it takes a long time to load the settings so I switched to iPad. that was a while ago... now that traktor pro 3 is coming, I want to see the new user interface and improvements .I like djing with laptop but I like it better with iPad.

I would love you to enchace trakcomerger pls so I can pass all my work to traktor pro 3

 

Got it, thanks ... you can be sure i will keep an eye on TPro 3, at least i want make sure that the current functionlity of TraCoMerger and TraCoConverter (sync between TPro and TDJ, and convert into DJPP) also works with upcoming TPro and maybe in future thinking about DJPP to TPro convert.

does anybody have a sollution for mac owners? there must be tons of dj's who like to prep on the road with TDJ, then export to TP...ive tried all sorts of .NET extentions in Wine but nothing works...why cant NI help us out????? its all about workflow, right? i dont understand why NI doesnt see this potential :/

 

I would love offer a TraCoMerger for Mac, but can't develope as i do not own a Mac, and no experience on coding apps in OSX, sorry for this. what i always can offer: if you send me your both collection.nml (Tdj and TPro) in a private conversation i can merge for you. Alternativelly use a PC from any friend, no itunes, no song collection, no Traktor needed on this PC. it is a simple merge, needs 3 min only.

DUDE! It worked!!!

It works with Parallels...setup is slow but very easy. Just install Parallels with Win 10 x64 option. Then drag your TraCoMerger.exe on win desktop in Parallels. Open and load TP collection.nml in top, and TDJ collection.nml in bottom window...tataaaa

Before using TraCoMerger in Parallels i added all my music to the TP collection, and analysed everything (can take time). I also did Check Consistency thing. Before i did this last thing, it didnt work.

What is the take away for all Mac user ? Use Parralels, not Wine, right ? Please confirm .

and best: your test tells us that the Win10 x64 of Mac Parralells has all neccessary .NET components included already, so quite easy, no TraCoMerger Install necessary, launch TraCoMerger.exe only. Perfect !

And yes, you always must ensure that your source (and destination !) collection is completed analyzed before, otherwise will not work (see details in help file)

 

yeah i used Parallels, which emulates a complete windows install on mac...you actually see a windows desktop after installing.
I choose to install the x64 Windows 10 inside Parallels, i just gave me that option during install of Parallels.
In my case it was very straightforward Beware that Parallels can take a lot of space, so dont install on system HD if you are short on space, but use another disk.

my test macbook was 2013 15" i7 2.8gz, with High Siera

No, earlier user told us that Wine does not have all needed frameworks, using Parralels seems the way to go

NI, you should be ashame! This guy provided a workaround a way better support on this matter than you could!

Good question, thx ! .. I did not have the time yet to test myself ..sorry .. but i am optimistic that current version works with Tpro3 too, as my apps are meanwhile quite tolerant in Traktor syntax.
But to validate: i would be exited too to know from other user, maybe anybody tested already ? (Merging TP2<>TP3 or TP3<>TDJ)

I have a problem. When I look on to iCloud Drive (tested on Mac finder, iMac Chrome, iPhone app Files, PC Win7 Chrome) I see only folder Traktor Rec and other my folders. When I look to iCloud sync on iOS Settings, TDJ is on and data they have 96kb. Do you know where is the problem? ¨

Which iOS device do you use (iPad or iPhone) and which TDJ version? Be aware: the latest (already 2 year old) iPhone version of TDJ in appstore (1.6.5) does NOT support iCloud (unfortunatly), NI updated only the iPad version (1.6.8)
