Traktor 2.11 not saving again the remix sets

Come on please ! 2.11 is not saving again the remix decks !

 

and old remix sets can´t be loaded either, not even the remix sets provided by NI to promote the remix decks. about 80% of my remix sets are useless now and i don´t feel very motivated to create them again.
i sent a bug report for this, we´ll see if there´ll be any reply.

 

I had export the remix set from 2.6.8 and i can load it without problems to 2.11

ok i had an answer from NI support.
The email says that....

you can still start 2.11. out of the 'backup' subfolder you find in the install Dir of Traktor.
Please start 2.11. from there, and test if the save process works if triggered via mouse (click the deck letter, select 'save remix set')
If this does also not work, then there is for sure an issue with the folder configuration that we can fix.
Today i will try it.

 

I made a screen recording (be nice it's my first try) hope it may help some with the ins and outs of this Remix set saving.
This works for me flawlessly as long as I keep this workflow.
Also pay close attention to where files are read from as I go through the tutorial.

 

here is the problem and i have email that to NI so i am waiting.
At the first seconds i creat folder and song to show that the permisions at the Traktor folder are ok

 

@stroumf77 what are your default directories set to in Traktor?
But more importantly I was able to get Traktor to not save samples just as your video.!!
In preferences File Management you need to make sure that the preference "Save created Loop and Samples automatically" is checked.
When I left that unchecked the samples did not save just as in your video. Once the samples are saving(hopefully that is your issue) then be sure to do my steps for the export/delete/re-import. Then the remix sets will be in the Content Import Folder, just as the other ones in your video.

The content import folder is the place where you need all the samples to end up saved.
I know this has to be frustrating, things should be way easier than this.
But hope that is the issue and hope if so it is what others may be facing.

 

hello zephry . Yes the directories are set to default and also the ''save created lopp samples automatically'' is checked.
Also NI suport had asked me to send them some files from traktor setting and when they check theses files they answer to me that the setting in my traktor are ok.
Now i have to wait...

Wow, darn I thought that was it for sure.
It was exactly what your samples did in the video, just played without that quick blue indicator at the bottom when they save.
So it is not that the Remix Sets don't save, it is the samples, because the captured loops are always saved to the sample folder as soon as they are played 3 times.
If you use samples from other sets or your drive those probably do save as remix sets. Because they are already created.
Your issue is definitely the captured loops. The same problem should also happen with the Looprecorder, because samples are captured and saved into the sample folder as well.

Any samples you drag in should work.

 

@stroumf77 Maybe also check if any other file type or tracks not analyzed with Platinum Notes, as well is there anything else that your laptop has running that may interfere or change files especially when a new file and maybe specifically audio files are created?
Something is running that is stopping the file from being written.
I am no pro but maybe try a new mp3 track not analyzed or processed with any other applications, and disable all running applications you can, stuff like Dropbox and any backup or file accessing software.

See if at all possible to run just Traktor and a track. Then test with other applications one by one.

Or disable any applications or process you think might be a possible issue.

To me it seems either an issue with the tracks or an evil demon somewhere blocking the actual file creation. Just some ideas to try.

 

Oh I also wonder does recording a mix work?
Try recording the mix if that works then it is definitely able to write files from Trakor.

 

yes its have been a long period long long period about that problem.
I have try everyting
I can record my set without problem
All my tracks are analyzed by Platinum Notes (all) so if it was a problem about that, it should be happen to both of verisons of TSP.
(i had load random tracks at the video , but if you want i can do it with the same tracks)
+ platinum notes is mp3 or wav (i have it in mp3) so that think has nothing to do with the problem
+ I can record my mixes with all of vers of TPS. (np at all).
NO its defentetly problem of Traktor !!!
Running with 2.6.8 and all ok but running (2.8 , 2.9 , 2.10 , 2.11) there is a problem . I have double check all the settings between 2.6.8 and the problematic version, all my setting are the same & all the songs are the same.

Well as i said to NI support : Doesnt matter for me so much if i use or not sample decks but.. why someone trust NI for buying more expensive hardwares like s8 ect.. ? Especially someon doesnt know if the hardware will still working fine at the next verions of TSP.

And please believe me ! Why some one that has spend a lot of money to try to find solutions in the forums ? (solutions that are not ''extra'' solution)

I bought F1 for around 200euros its not a problem at for me to sell it for 50euro.
Not working good = costs nothing.
Simple.

Seems to be specific to captured loops, still curious if his other samples in the collection will save in a remix set. Since those don't have to be written to the drive, they are read from the location on the drive. Until exported and re-imported. Then the files(samples) are read from the content import folder.
If so the problem could be reported to NI as the "captured loops are not being written to the drive before remix set is saved".

 

Today i had an answer from the support that says that:
''thnx a lot for the video, i now fully understand the issue and you will be able to save in 2.11. again.
This is the bug that causes the issue:
TP-11379 'Save Remix Set' ignores samples captured from a deck if those have not been played 3 times before saving
this bug affects all version from 2.10.1 to 2.11. - the last unaffected version is 2.10.0
However, as the bug description mentions, this only affects samples captured from decks or loop recorder, as those now need to be played three times (for one shots) or looped 3 times (for loops) in order to get saved to disk.
Therefore please test it by letting each loop play for at least 3 cycles as this will make Traktor save the samples.
If you then also save the set it will work.
Hope this helps, and also hope we will soon have a fix for this.''
But its not right about playing loops 3 times because at 5:39 in the video i have let the sample to loop more than 3 times.

 

No offense, but that's already known if you carefully read this post... BTW It does not matter whether you use the default directory path or not. As long as you trigger your captured samples >3 times they will be saved.

Yeah those samples didn't save at all in the video. Do you have any controller mappings, this is a long shot but maybe disable all of them and try with just the software. Also I read a post that mentioned captured loops not saving.
Although the person doesn't really follow up. They say they solved the issue with a simple re-install of Traktor.

I doubt this is the answer but If you haven't tried (I'm sure you have) try a re-install.
Also there is mention of a downgrade to Yosemite, but the post is also mentioning issues resolved with distortion.
For me a full downgrade would be overkill if all I had to do is use samples saved to the drive or make samples in Ableton.
Do your samples on your hard drive save as remix sets? Is this only a "captured loop" problem?
If so I suggest sending NI information about your OS and specifying that the captured loops do not save no matter what. Also check permissions for Traktor only. Even though the drive can write files maybe some setting for Traktor specific permissions is incorrect.

Please don't feel I am bossy or doubt your ability, you may have tried all of this.
But one thing is for sure NI support does not understand your specific issues related to your OS. That reply was the standard reply that can be found withva simple search in the Support area for Traktor.

 

ok if i re-install Traktor do i have to re-analyze all my songs ?
I have double check the premisons also and the default directories at Traktor setting.
The same thing happens if i was F1 or i just do it with the mouse.
Also i use Mac OS Mavericks in both of the tests (2.6.8 & 2.11) so if it was a problem related by Mavereicks it should be happen at the both of the versions of TSP.
