Has anyone used the sequencer using their f1?, i can't get it to work. I'm running the full version of 2.11 but I'm using the guide that came with the beta.
The guide says press browse to switch the sequencer on and then press the mute button at the bottom to choose the cell you want to control. You should then see the lights moving. When i do it i only get the normal f1 controls.
Has anyone managed to get it to work? .

Hey Mark if you open up Traktor > Preferences > Controller Manager > Device: Add > Import TSI: Native Instruments > F1 Step Sequencer - Then Choose Deck A, B, C, and/or D

Is there any instruction manual out there, where all the bindings are described?
Is there a chance to change the color of the pads in combination with the slot i am using?
Does anybody know if somehow the display in Traktor itself will change to step sequencer view like it does with the D2?

    - Didn't see any but I may be mistaken, however it's quite straightforward and just a look at the mapping will give you the answers you're looking for.
I already gave some in a previous post, somewhere.
    - probably, that's something I wanted to have a look at, however it's a tedious work for only a minor aesthetic convenience (and the mute buttons are modifiers telling you on which slot you're working). Not sure I'll find the motivation. That said, I didn't really look into it much, I saw the two modifiers conditions are taken by most commands but as the colors are messages related I don't "think" that would be an issue. I can be wrong.
    - no there's no "sequencer view" in Traktor, the view is either on your controller or on the screens from the s8 & d2.

There are no mappable commands to mirror the colors of samples like the embedded programming of the pads for NI controllers.
The only controller I know of that is not NI was the Midifighter Spectra(3d). And that was not a mapping it was an alternative firmware that allowed the colors and other features so that it behaved almost exactly as the F1.
For quite some time the Spectra was not working as an alternative to the F1, I believe it is now though.
This seems like a useful maybe overlooked feature for mapping, I really wish NI would update or create another application for mapping.

That not what I meant, you can change the pads color on the mapping. Not mirror the color of the samples themselves.
My sequencer uses now red, orange, yellow and blue depending on the slot used.

Oh maybe I understood wrong, but I was replying to Flatlander.

The Import TSI step is what I've been missing -- thanks a lot.

I'm running 2.11 and don't have the "F1 Step Sequencer Deck A....." TSI import options. Any clues?

Is there no way to access the step sequencer without an F1?
I always assumed that all Traktor functionality was accessible (though perhaps cumbersome) through the laptop alone.
    No?
I'm using an S5 and would like to play with the step sequencer.
    TIA.

Yes you can access the step sequencer(s) with other controller, most if not all mapping commands are available.
However from what I've understood, there was no implementation on the S5 for it, unlike the S8 and F1. You may need to double check that, I'm not sure, it may be old news.
