I wanted to be well and truly enthused about T3. I have played with it - I don't trust it and furthermore I just don't like using it.

I'm back to using 2.6.2 for gigs and recording mixes - T3 has been relegated to toy status.

Out of curiosity who is using T3 as weapon of choice?

    ::raises hand::

Actively gigging with T3 since February, uninstalled 2.6.2 early in April.

EDIT: First version I ever had was 2.6.1.

I'm using 2.5.3 for gigging/recording. Hardly using 3.02 at all. To be fair, the last update seems to have made it more stable, but the inability to write mixes infuriates me. I still wouldn't gig with it unless I had a controller more suited to it (gee--maybe I should build one with a friend of mine). I admit that some of this is just me being used to how I work with my faderfox and not wanting to change. The new functions of T3, even disregarding the problems with recording, are laudable enough that I would like to play out with it, but the controller issue is a biggie. I refuse to be one of those DJs who stares at a screen and works the mouse like crazy, and currently T3 pretty much requires it.

using t3 here since the second release (3.01) without any problems or performance issues. working with 4 decks, key lock, and fx with no probs at all. (no fs and only with mp3's).

i also used the native mix recording function. (look at the mix section for my morricone-mix). the only "problem" i had where some little glitches when start overdubbing.

when i compare t2 - t3 (in my personal opinion), there are all disadvantages on t2 side.
    - t3 gui is really nice (i like it really) and more functional (fullscreen modus etc..)
    - different customizable layouts
    - effects (i don't will miss them anymore, especially the beat masher:)
    - 4 decks (i use them also as sampler)

    only my2c

All I can say is that I'm jealous. The fact that there's an entire sticky thread initiated by a moderator and devoted to people's T3 NMX problems speaks to the problem being with T3 & not with the users. I make demos and a LOT of podcasts using Traktor, so this one's a dealbreaker for me.

Being new to Traktor and only having T3 to choose from (buy), I have not run into anything that would even remotely send me looking onto eBay for a boxed version of T2.

Again, being new I haven't had the "pleasure" of a crash at a gig, actually, no gigs at all yet. However, this will change in June where I hope not to dissapoint my friend and his bride-to-be (I WILL have CD backup).

I am concentrating on the controller issue right now as well. I committed to a DAC-3 which is already installed in my rig, however, because I am also committed to Mac, it is not currently working. I can't wait for those guys to release their Mac Midi driver (hopefully soon). Alternatively, maybe ControllerMate 4.0 will come out and be able to interface with it.

As I have been experimenting, I also decided to get into the M-Audio Trigger Finger, which was really easy to program BTW. I believe that when I get the DAC-3 working, those two pieces of hardware, along with my external mixer (I am sticking to external mode), will be best suited for my purposes which will include using decks 3 and 4 to play back samples on top of the mix.

I still use 2.5.3 live - most stable audio performance in my experience.

I also use 2.6.2 at home because I like its improved browser features and I import new music to my collection with 2.6.2 and smart playlists in iTunes. BUT I experience audio drop-outs regularly, regardless of setttings. I'll use it for recordings and experience audio drop-outs, but these glitches only seem to appear in the live output and don't transfer to the recordings when I "write".

I may consider buying Traktor 3 about when it reaches version 3.5.3, but I'm not interested in it in its current state.

    I'm using 2.6.2.

I have not installed 3 yet. I suppose I am waiting for THE update that fixes bugs to everyone's satisfaction. I don't want a new pony, I want a thoroughbred!

After playing around with the T3 demo I decided to stick with T2.6.2 cos although T3 introduces some 'nice' extras (4 decks, more FX etc), it comes at the cost of features I regard as essential: having all the controls on one screen and the 'set' button to correct slightly offset beatgrids.

I never actually tried recording any mixes on T3, but glitches in this part of the program make it a default no choice.

    Hi Sean, Guys

Back in November I saw the T3 beta in action. At first glance I thought it was awsome 4 decks wow! the release came at a busy time year for me lots of holiday gigs so i did not jump on T3 right away. Boy am I glad that I waited, when longtime traktor user's run into problems, well...

I am sticking with 2.6.2 I have Never had a crash or hic-up since it came out. Attendance on my nights are way up in the last year and the club is looking to add another night. I'm getting more gigs than I can Handle because of Traktor 2.6.2

I have yet to see someone other than PhilL make it work. If it ain't broke don't fix it! I'll wait till T3 gets fixed.

I'm running Traktor 3 most always now because I run 4 decks so often, But my last outing a couple of weeks ago (also the first for a while) I was truly worried T3 might fall over but it performed nearly flawlessly.

One very recent bug I have just started seeing I think is releated to the presence of the BCD2000, Traktor will sometimes hang when trying to open Preferences. There is lots of debugging yet to do on this.

In pure reliability my fears are not being realized, although there are lots of little UI niggles that annoy me rather considerably.

hmmmm, so a lot of long term users not upgrading (i use the term in the broadest sense of it's meaning) Lots of people that used to post here are now regularly posting on the Ableton and SSL forums... NI please sort it out. I love Traktor, I think it's an amazing piece of software, it has revolutionised my DJ'ing. I actually prefer to DJ with Traktor now to the decks I have owned for 18 years... Please make 3.0 work like it should and please listen to us Users - we know what we're talking about...

    2.5.3 for gigs.

lot of glitches occur with T3 when analysing during playback for an example.
And it is not stable enough for live conditions.
I think that today T3 is a toy. I'm waiting impatiently for tomorrow.

Still using 2.53 which I like very much for its simple and effcient user interface, even though it has a few minor bugs. I think NI should have kept supporting and refining a 2-deck product like 2.53 or 2.6 because it's sufficient for most people and it's reliable and easier to use and has less system requirements. And 2.x works very well with current Midi controllers such as the X-Session and FaderFox which have enough knobs and switches to cover the 2 decks.

The 3.0 demo expired on me so I can't play around with it anymore. I will probably buy the update just to keep current with what is going on, in hopes that eventually 3 will be better than 2.53.

I've been using FS since version 1 all the way through to the current one.

I am using current version of T3 professionally up to 4 gigs a week.. Updates certainly have helped sort out some issues (AAC etc).

In my opinion WAY better than 2.6.2. You are missing out brother!

    peace,

I couldn't go back to 2.62 now - I have broadcast over 30 live sets with T3 and done exciting things with it that were simply impossible with 2.62.

I have found it to be very stable for the application I am using it for (live 2 hour sets).

I am STILL finding new useful shortcuts and features 6 months after starting to use it.

There are some things that need improving/fixing but in general it is a very powerful product and will allow you to sound much more interesting in the mix than with 2.62 (assuming you use pure software fx MIDI mixer etc).

2.62 is great I used it a lot but but T3 has too many important enhancements for me to overlook it.
