    Hi Guys,
I do have a few issues with the traktor after getting a bit more into detail with it:

    Question no. 1:
Is there any possibility to change the frequencyband of the eq on the ddj t1 when using it with traktor? I think the frequencyband of mid hi and lo are quite different to the ones on any DJM, for example the DJM 800.

    Question no. 2:
Beatmatching and using the synch function.
A while ago I discovered the "Beat Synch" function which will not only match the tempo of to tracks but the phases as well. For some reason this function suddenly does not work anymore and so it's similar to the "Tempo Synch" mode, I have to manually match the phases of two tracks because by simply clicking the synch button, I am not achieving a proper synchronisation between two tracks.
What else do I need to take into consideration to have a quick and perfect beatmatch when using traktor 2?

    Question no.3:
Obviously, with the included midi mapping, it is not possible to set up the jog wheels in a way that makes them act like jog wheels of any cdj which is used in CDJ mode. Is there any way to set up the touch on top of the jog wheel to immediate stop instead of slowing down like a vinyl?

Thank you very much for your answers,
    ivres

    For your first question:

Preferences > Mixer > EQ Type

There is a drop down menu you can choose different EQ types from. See which one sounds best

    Second Quesion:

Preferences > Transport > Sync Mode

Make sure BeatSync is selected and not TempoSync. If so, there should be no reason why its not working as you would like. Only thing I could thing of is Snap/Quantize (make sure your Snap feature is on by clicking the "S" box under "Main" knob. These are found at the top middle, above mixer section.

    Third:

Touching the top of the platters on the DDJ-T1 should immediately stop playback... Not sure what you mean by slowing down like a vinyl. But you are correct when you say that the mapping does not emulate CDJ mode

    Hi Derek,
First of all, thank you very much for your competent feedback.
Regarding the mixer settings, i knew that this was included in my traktor 1 series, there was a DJM an XOne, etc. to select, unfortunately the traktor 2 coming with the DDJ does not support this feature anymore. Do you know if there are any upgrades available?

Regarding the beat synch, i have now doublechecked if beat synch mode and snap are activated, i also activated quantize. This set up works quite nice but unfortunately not for all tracks, i have found a few where it still does not work and you ve got to do the synch manually.

If you may want to have a try on them yourself, i have used
Nightcrawlers push feeling on (belocca mix)
    And
Tiga - you gonna want me (hey today mix)
as a good example to find out about traktor's synch characteristics.

Is there probably still somethibg else which needs to be taken into account?
Probably does the ddj edition do not include all features?

    Many thanks,
    Ivres

    Hey Irves,

No problem, I try to be helpful when I can. I guess your inability to change the EQ tpye is a result of using Traktor 2 Pioneer addition... I've been running Traktor Pro 2, since I had the money to upgrade to the full version (139 I think). If you have the money, I would recommend it, more effects and features (never will have to rationalize not needing some un-had feature)

For the beat sync, I have noticed that some songs just don't want to work well with the phase grid. One suggestion would to make sure your phase grids are nice and lined up. If you have the DDJ, you can use shift+loop knob to move the phase grid (if you zoom in real far, and check the first beat, you can make sure the phase lies on beats similarly on all your songs.

Another important thing to do with the phase is to make sure it does not drift throughout the song. To do this, make sure the first beat has the phase aligned, and then use the beat jump feature to scan through the song to make sure it stays on the same spot of beats throughout the song. If it does drift around, use the grid adjustment buttons to expand/contract the grid (I attached a picture of the buttons I mean).

If that doesn't solve your problem, try taping in the beat, or if that doesn't work then I'm out of ideas hahaha
